Dos and donts when you go the lab

1). FAST
Find out from your doctor if you need to be on empty stomach for your tests
Not all tests need fasting status
2). DRINK lots of fluids before you go for a blood draw.
Even if yOu are fasting you can drink water
Drinking water will hyd rate you and make your venis more proponent and blood easier to draw
3). WASH with soap water the site of phlobotomy or the site from where they will draw blood usually your elbow or from the back of your hand
4) CHAT with the person you are getting a vein puncture from it will help you to relax ,it is more so for people with a dear of needles
5) you can ask for a LOCAL application of ANESTHETIC before puncture if you are very scared ( yes ointment will make it totally painless ) but please check for allergies before application .
