KMCTPED 2025, the 5th annual CME organised jointly by the Department of Pediatrics, KMCT Medical College and Indian Academy of Pediatrics, Kozhikode , was held on the 14th of December, 2025 at Mini theatre, KMCT Dental College, Kozhikode.
The program had a series of enthralling academic sessions by renowned faculty across the state.
The faculty and delegates were welcomed by Dr. Riyaz A., HOD, Dept of Pediatrics, KMCT Medical College. The program was inaugurated by Dr. Rajesh TV , President, IAP Kozhikode, by lighting the lamp. Dr.Sajna Saeed , Secretary, IAP Kozhikode and Dr. Dhanya Soodhana, Joint Secretary, IAP Kozhikode, also took part in the inauguration ceremony.
Senior paediatricians and great teachers like Dr. Sudha Krishnanunni Madam and Dr. V. Radha Govindan Madam(in absentia) were honoured by Dr. Riyaz A. This was followed by vote of thanks by the organising secretary Dr. Anjali .
The academic sessions included topics , covering various pediatric sub-specialities , like Obesity ( Dr.Vijayakumar), pigmentary disorders of skin(Dr. Najeeba),recent advances in TB ( Dr. Ashraf ), Genetics ( Dr. Gireesh ), Chronic constipation ( Dr. Riyaz), dilemmas in pediatric cardiology ( Dr. Remadevi), CBC interpretation ( Dr. Sheethal) and pediatric rheumatology ( Dr. Shiji ). The sessions continued post lunch also and concluded with a detailed panel discussion on Amoebic Meningoencephalitis, moderated by Dr. Jayakrishnan. The panelists included Dr. Purushothaman , Dr. Shaji Thomas John ,Dr. Manoj Narayanan , Dr. Parameswaran ,Dr. Beena Philomina, Dr. Febna Rahiman and Dr. Kavitha TK . The CME was attended by around 100 delegates and well appreciated by all.
