✨ A Reflection from Our Kaula Ta**ra Teachings at SKY-Ashram ✨
🌺 Honouring the Self: The Path from Fear to Love 🌺
Self-Honour
In Kaula Ta**ra at our ashram, we begin with the simple act of honouring ourselves.
To honour the self is to recognize the divine within — the spark of consciousness that is not separate from the Whole (in Monism or Non-dualism).
To honour oneself is not an act of self-absorption, but an act of recognition; a realization that we are deserving of respect, kindness, and truth.
It begins with self-awareness — the courage to see ourselves clearly and to accept our strengths and flaws without judgment. 🌺
Oftentimes this can be difficult due to past trauma and conditioning.
Fear
When we honour ourselves, we affirm our inherent worth.
We no longer seek validation from the external world, for we recognize that the source of love and respect already exists within.
In this state of self-honour, fear begins to dissolve.
Fear can only exist when we forget our True Nature — when we believe we are separate, limited, or unworthy of the Whole.
When we doubt our own value, we become vulnerable to insecurity and comparison.
We look outward for validation, and our relationships become driven by anxiety rather than authenticity.
But when we hold ourselves in esteem, fear loses its hold.
Confidence replaces doubt; serenity replaces defensiveness. 🌿
Trust
Without fear, trust becomes possible.
Trust is the bridge between self and other — a surrender that can only happen when we feel safe in who we are.
If we fear rejection, we withhold.
If we fear betrayal, we control.
Trust asks us to release that fear and believe in the goodness of life and people, even when the outcome is uncertain. 💫
Love
Only with trust can love fully emerge.
Love is the flowering of trust — a state of openness that allows us to give and receive freely.
It is not the possession of another, but the meeting of individuals who honour themselves enough to stand whole and unafraid. ❤️
From such ground, love ceases to be a need and becomes a gift.
Love in Ta**ra is not an emotion to be grasped, but a state of being — a natural expression of unity with the Divine.
When we honour ourselves, we can meet others without need or fear, allowing love to flow freely as the very essence of being. ❤️
It becomes our way of seeing, our way of being — One with the spark of Divine Consciousness within each other.
Wisdom Across Traditions
Philosophers, psychologists, and spiritual teachers alike echo this truth.
Carl Rogers spoke of unconditional positive regard: a foundation of acceptance that begins within.
Thich Nhat Hanh taught that to love another, we must first understand and love ourselves.
And in the words of Brené Brown, “We can only love others as much as we love ourselves.”
In Kaula Ta**ra, this is the alignment with Shakti — the creative intelligence that is both within and beyond us.
This is the essence of Kaula Ta**ra:
to live in harmony with oneself and with all of creation,
to know that the Divine is not somewhere else,
but right here, as you.
🕉️ When we honour ourselves, there is no fear. Without fear, trust is possible. Only with trust can we love.
