Activity Update – Cancer Screening & Awareness Camp

Dr. Rajandeep Singh Sethi, Consultant Surgical Oncologist, department of oncology, represented Indus Fatehgarh Sahib Hospital at the Cancer Screening and Awareness Camp organized at Civil Hospital Fatehgarh Sahib in collaboration with the World Cancer Care Charitable Society.

His participation in the program reflected the strong professional collaboration and sustained engagement developed through continuous involvement in cancer awareness and public health initiatives.

During the camp, a large number of patients were consulted and screened through mammography, PSA testing, oral cancer screening, and general cancer evaluation. The initiative emphasized early detection and timely intervention, and several patients were guided for further management under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme.

Dr. Sethi had meaningful interactions with Dr. Arvinder Pal Singh (Civil Surgeon), Dr. Sarita (DMS), Dr. Jaspreet Singh (SMO), and Dr. Daljeet Kaur (DFPO), along with the administrative and medical team. The authorities appreciated the consistent efforts of the Oncology Department of Indus Fatehgarh Sahib hospital in providing comprehensive cancer care under Ayushman Bharat.

The district administration acknowledged Department of oncology and Indus Fatehgarh Sahib Hospital as the only dedicated cancer centre in the district offering cancer surgeries and chemotherapy facilities under the scheme on regular basis. Discussions were also held on expanding awareness programs, screening camps, and strengthening referral systems.

The camp was graced by MLA Fatehgarh Sahib S. Lakhbir Singh Rai, who appreciated the hospital’s initiatives in cancer screening and affordable treatment.

This initiative enhanced the hospital’s visibility, strengthened collaboration with government authorities, and reinforced its leadership in delivering ethical, accessible, and high-quality oncology care in the region.

It has since been respectfully placed in our Baba Ji’s room, where it has felt like a quiet source of grace and remembrance.

This beautifully compiled work on the life and legacy of Guru Nanak Dev Ji is more than a book — it is a bridge to our spiritual and cultural roots.
