After almost a year I am writing this post,reason being very busy and a different type of work profile.now after lock down everybody is talking to ayurvedic people to give some advice to boost immunity.
Lot many kwaths are prepared and people are giving their own opinion about immunomodulators to name a few are Tulsi,ashvagandha,dalchini,giloye,Kali mirch ,choti ilaichi and barhi ilayachi,Kali mirch,adarak etc.
If you are a lazy person like me and not don t want to prepare it then you can take kanthsudharak vati of Unjha pharmacy with all the ingredients as immunomodulators. This is one tip for today.
Second thing I want to give you for the patients of hypertension ,I have learned the technique Yognidra.Yognidra is not only for the patients of hypertension but for common persons to relax and have sound sleep.

Keto roti--dessicated coconut powder three teaspoons,flax seed powder two teaspoons,almond powder two teaspoon,psyllum husk two teasppon,pinch of salt and ajwain.put all things in grinder to mix it for thirty to sixty seconds except for ajwain.u can seperately grind coconut flakes, and psyllum husk.now put some water in it and make dough out of it.now make roti out of it.it can make two rotis.place the dough on plastic wraper and make roti with the use of some water either by hand or by belan.put little ghee on the heated tawa and put roti over it.Roast from both the sides.put little ghee on the other side before changing side.serve hot with butter or enjoy it with sambhar .

Some options for lunch/breakfast while on keto or low carb diet.
Keto sambhar - pumkin 150gm,cut in pieces,lauki(bottle gourad) 100 gm cut in small pieces,onion small one or half big,tomato small one or half big,tur dal one teaspoon (optional ) for taste,mustard seeds,sambhar masala MDH,lady finger three four,coriander ,curry leaves,small brinjal(optional),roasted peanuts 15 gms,salt ,desi ghee, juice of one lemon.,turmeric powder,rock salt to taste.
Put pumpkin pieces and lauki pieces about 75 gms in the pressure cooker along with glass of water salt and turmeric.You can add tur dal in it.Now let it cook for two whistles and let it remain as it is for cook .now remove the water in a seperate bowl .Now mash the pumpkin and lauki.now put the water in it which was seperated.Heat desighee two teaspoons in a pan add musturd seeds and curry leaves in it now add onion and fry till light brown .now add remaining lauki pieces ,lady finger which is cut in pieces and brinjal.fry it for some time.now add tomato in it and two teaspoons of sambhar masala.fry for some time.now add the mashed pumkin ,lauki mixture in it and more waterAdd the peanuts after blending it in blende.Add coriander leaves in it.Let the mixture to boil.you can put it back in pressure cooker and can cook till one whistle.After that immediately remove the lid.Add lemon juice in it.low carb keto sambhar is ready.

Hello freinds.i m back to this page after a long.As promised i am giving certain options of breakfast for ketogenic diet.
Bullet proof coffee--- This gives instant energy and fullness.Take a glass of water and put half teaspoon of instant coffee in it.Let the water boil.Take fifteen gram of butter and one teaspoon of edible coconut oil in the blender.put the boiled coffee water in it and add sweetner of your choice like stevia,sugarfree natura drops etc.blend it for thirty seconds .yours creamy coffee is ready.
Omellette -- Cut one capsicum, two green chillis and coriander.Take twenty gram of mozrella or pizza cheese.grate or cut it in small pieces.put the cheese in blender add two to three eggs in blender with some rock salt and black pepper.Blend it for thirty seconds.now change the mixture in a bowl .Add capsicum,green chillis,green coriander and some pizza seasoning .Heat ghee on a tawa and put some of the egg mixture on it and place it on slow flame for some time .change the side and cook that also.your ommellete is ready.
Paneer bhurji--- Take half onion.cut it in small pieces along with a small size tomato.cut one capsicum in small pieces.u can add little bit of cabbage.Take hundred grams of paneer,grate it. Heat two teaspoons of desi ghee in a pan.Add onion pieces to it .fry till golden brown add capsicum to it along with cabbage.Add green chillis if u like up to two.add half teaspoon of turmeric powder to it.now add tomatoes,salt to taste and red chilli powder .fry for some time and add grated paneer to it .fry for one minute .your paneer bhurji is ready.garnish it with coriander.

‘KETO DIET INDIAN VERSION
I have gone through many you tube channels and books for keto diets.Everybdy writes about keto diet but are silent how to take it in Indian scenario specially North Indian style.So it becomes an opinion that KETO diet is only to take non vegetarian food.people forget about macros.They take nonvegeterian foodforgetting about the macros in the form of protein.Basically in this diet we have to tell our body to metabolise fat so for atleast two weeks one has to take lots of fat.Usually this is the first mistake person does and then he becomes disappointed when there is no weight loss.Second thing is to restrict carbohydrates.you will be astonished to know that carbohydrates are present in milk,curd,some vegetables and fruits in handsome amount.so the person should restrict carbohydrates to minimum amount .In books it is written as 20 grams but in my opinion in the beginning as the body has to adjust to the fat metabolism so the carbohydrates intake should be minimum.I have also gone through VRS diet which is very popular in Andhra Pradesh. I recommend the following keto Diet for the beginners
1.Take atleast seventy grams of fat per day in the form of butter,olive oil,desi ghee,coconut oil(if you are able to take as northern people don’t like its taste)in the beginning for two weeks.then reduce to forty to fifty gms
2.Take atleast three litres of water perday.
3.Use atleast two lemons per day to compensate potassium .Salt should be changed to Rock salt(saindha namak).4Take a tablet of multivitamin daily
5.Take carbohydrates in minimum amount.In the beginning of the diet it should not exceed 10 gms where as after two weeks it can be taken up to twenty to twenty five grams.
Things to be avoided
Sugar in any form,fruits,milk,curd,potato,sweet potatoes,arbi,zimikand,beet root,peas,beans,soya products,fast foods,pastries ,cake,pulses,gram,rajmah,rice,wheat,oats or any type of grain
Things to be taken
Eat one onion,one tomato ,one carrot/turnip in a day(limited quantity)if you want to take.
Take green vegetables fried in desighee or olive oil like broccoli,cauliflower,spinach,capsicum,
Mushrooms,brinjal,bhindi,coriander.
You can also take paneer 100 to 200 gms daily
The vegetables mentioned above can also be taken in the form of vegetable soup.I recommend atleast one diet should be in the form of clear vegetable soup in which the vegetables are boiled , then mashed and then stained.Put some butter in it and take.It is filling and also give required minerals.It must be taken as one meal.
You can eat eggs up to six a day boiled,in the form of ommellete,poched,fried etc.
Non veg in the form of chicken,meat,can be taken.but it should contain less onion.so I recommend lemon chicken or meat in the form of keema with said quantity of onion and tomato.Meat can also be taken in the form of tikka but see the contents for carbohydrates on the pack.you can also take fish.Nuts like almonds,walnets,sesame seeds,flax seeds,pumpkin seeds,melon seeds,coconut can be taken.
This is the crux and you can see these contents in one form or other but the main question is how much one should eat in a day. I have written all the things above and it appears from the content that one has to take meat,six eggs,chicken,and green vegetable and soup.But one has to take in to considerations the calories and ones like and dislikes.I will give different diet charts one day each .In which one diet mostly the lunch can be replaced.This diet is easy to follow and there is remarkable weight loss as well as inch loss.But if you don t follow it strictly there are chances of weight gain spontaneously.So firstly you should point out your likings and dislikings from the the things to be eaten.Some people are fond of eggs others chicken,some like fish and others paneer.If you don t like these products then sorry keto diet is not for you.You can opt for other diet plans with low calorie content.But for the persons with excessive weight more than 100 kgs and strong will power keto diet is the diet of choice.

Diets in PCOD :calories intake is very important to loose weight.For this following formula can be adopted .FOR MAINTENCE OF WEIGHT If you are moderately overweight and are active like exercise three times a week ,nearly thirty to thirty five year of age multiply by 15 to your weight in pounds.e.g. if you are thirty ,moderately active and weigh 145 pounds.then your calorie requirement for a day is 145*15 is approximately 2175 calories a day
FOR WEIGHT LOSS To loose one pound a week subtract 500 from your maintence weight calorie level .In this case it will be2175-500= 1675 calories.for loosing two pounds a week subtract 1000. In this case 2175-1000=1175 or 1200. In any case calorie intake should not be less than 1200 calories a day as it will slow down metabolism.
DIETRY ROUTINES FOR PCOS
Don t eat carbohydrates alone but combine them with protein or fat.
Try to select lower glycemic index foods as they will cause a slower rise in blood sugar.selectwhole grains instead of refined and processed
Space the carbohydrates out during the day.this will cause less rise in bloodsugar and insulin peak as compare to eating carbs at one meal.
Avoid carbs which aggravates cravings
Drink at least 2 litres of water a day as low carb intake can cause dehydration
Take monounsaturated fats like olive oil,nuts and omega 3 fats
Do exercise daily.
FOR CALCULATING CARBOHYDRATE NEEDS; calculate the calorie intake.if you need 40% carbs in your diet then multiply calorie intake by 0.4 then devide by 4(carbohydrate has 4 calories per gram) e.g. for calorie intake of 1425 it will be 1425*0.4/4 =142 carbs.similarly for 30 percent carbs it will be 0.3 multiply by calories and divide by 4.
FOODS YOU SHOULD INCLUDE 1.green leafy vegetables.contains fibre also haveiron,calcium,potassium,magnesium,and vitamins K,C,E and B.Vitamin B is very useful to improve the function of thyroid,fat metabolism and better harmone balance.Calcium in the vegetables help the ovaries to develop.potassium and other minerals help to treat glucose in tolerance.
Colored veggies have antioxidants to reduce stress.
Fruits: fruits have several minerals,vitamins,polynutrients and fibres.Choose fruit with lower glycemic index like kiwi fruit,strawberries,pear,guava,oranges,watermelon.apricort,apples,melons.

Something about diet in pcos.Basically the insulin level is disturbed so we have to take the things which have high gycemic index means complex carbohydrates.fast foods and corn flour type of things should be avoided.you can take green vegetables like ghia,parmal,tori ,tinda ,spinach,lettuce,cucumber,radish,turnip,etc.Beans and peas should be taken in limited amounts.As for as the fruits are concerned oranges ,apple,kiwi,papaya,water melon,melon,gauva can be taken .Avoid mangoes,banana and grapes.pulses all types you can take in limited amount.In pcos /pcod there is weight gain is main cause of concern.some allopaths prescribe metformin (diabetec drugs)for this.which is not the cure. After going through the you tube i got a chance to see a foriegn lady keto christina channel.who got her pcos reverse by following keto diet. I studied a lot about keto diet and compared with our ayurveda also.keto diet is a low carb ,moderate protien and high fat diet which is now a days in to reduce weight. It is just like sneh paan written in our ancient texts.As in keto the amount of carbs intake is negligible hence there is no need of insulin to get the carbohydrates metabolised.so the body takes energy from the fay and to a great extent from body fat and the weight starts reducing.I also came across a news that a telgu man known as VRS has claimed to lose 30 kg and reduced his blood sugar level to a great extent.He is very popular in Andhra pradesh and gives lectures about his diet.I hv gone through his concept also.So in the next blogs I will be summerising diet chart for pcos/pcods and start with the keto diets which will be helpful for your patients to reduce weight and to control diabetes and pcos .Have a nice days.
