In a world that glorifies the hustling, sacrificing, round the clock working culture & pushing ourselves beyond our capacity, it can make us feel wrong & selfish to take breaks and care for our mental health.🚩

And make no mistake. You can be completely passionate about the work you are doing, your relationship, parenting, etc. and still reach burnout.💯

On the other hand, you can also be burnt out when there is no passion or drive toward your daily activities.💥

I’ve struggled with this in the past and it’s only last week when I took a trip with my daughter and friend to a beach town and completely relax did I realize just how far I’ve come. 🏝🌈

If this is you, awareness is the first step toward healing this. ✅

✨You are not alone
✨Healing is possible
✨You are worthy of it.

Looking back, I have spent so much time having expectations of people that don’t have the capacity or capability to meet even with the best intentions in place, and some are simply not willing to.

Sometimes I hadn’t communicated effectively what my needs and preferences were. People are not mind readers, and sometimes this is necessary to set expectations straight. ✅

Other times it was simply not their responsibility but mine. Accepting this has led to so much peace. 🕊

As a therapist, my job often is to help my clients heal their past, take responsibility for their feelings now, identify areas in their life where their unrealistic expectations are letting them down, and feel a sense of agency over their emotions. ✨💫

It’s time to get realistic about what you can expect and to what degree, as well as take responsibility for how we feel before we set ourselves up for disappointment. ✨

How are you managing your expectations from those around you? ❓❓

What else would you add to this list ❓❓

The most important person to forgive is ourselves. (For our past versions, for the things we did when we were reactive or scared, when we forgot the truth of who we actually are).🙌🌈

When you feel the wave of guilt or shame coming over you remember to forgive yourself and decide to do better next time. 💫

Guilt, shame & judgement are meant to keep you stuck and doesn’t serve you or anyone else. ❌

The most loving thing we can do is commit to forgiving ourselves over & over again.❤️

What will you forgive yourself for today? ✨

Your subconscious mind holds the answers to all your current problems, blocks, unhelpful beliefs and self sabotaging behaviours.💥

Through subconscious therapy you gain an adult understanding of how the experiences in your childhood created the stored subconscious limiting beliefs and how your body and nervous system adapted in order to survive. 💯

When we understand how the subconscious mind stores limiting beliefs, we can understand our blocks in life and why we do the things we do and why we have certain habits and behaviours that are more problematic than helpful. ✅

This is why to create lasting change, we need to identify the subconscious limiting beliefs and what childhood wounds are still affecting your current life. ✨🌈

Childhood wounds are created when our emotional needs were not met. 💔

Some Examples of Childhood Wounds are 👇

🚩Abandonment
🚩Betrayal
🚩Rejection
🚩Shame
🚩Not feeling good enough/Inadequacy
🚩Imperfection
🚩Loneliness
🚩Unlovable
🚩Helpless
🚩Failure
🚩Worthlessness

When our basic needs in childhood we’re not met like 👇

✅Safety
✅Predictability
✅Love
✅Affection
✅Playfulness & Spontaneity
✅Acceptance & Praise
✅Sense of Belonging
✅Taking healthy risk
✅Freedom & Independence

Your subconscious mind holds the answers to all your current problems, blocks, unhelpful beliefs and self-sabotaging behaviours, limiting beliefs and how your body and nervous system adapted in order to survive. 💯 ✅

Perfectionism is the belief that if we live perfectly, look perfectly and act perfectly, we can avoid the pain of blame, judgment and shame. ⚠️

It keeps the focus on others. It occurs when you ask, "What will they think?" !?🚩

Healthy striving, meanwhile, focuses on you. * It occurs when you ask yourself, "How can I improve?" ✅

Perfectionism hampers the success we all want and often leads to missed opportunities, due to fears of putting anything out in the world that could be imperfect or disappoint others.✨

It can also be the root cause of depression, anxiety, addiction and isolation.⚠️

I realized quite late that perfectionism is not about achievement and growth, it’s actually far from it. 🛑

It's a 100-ton shield that we lug around thinking it will protect us when, in fact, it's the thing that's really preventing us from taking action on the goals we want to accomplish in life. 💥

I'd love to know, do you notice your thoughts, feelings & beliefs resonating more to the right or the left of this list. ✨

Perfectionism doesn’t always look like spotless desks and color-coded planners. Sometimes, it hides behind overworking, procrastination, or needing validation from others.

✨ Swipe to find out about the 8 types of perfectionists ➡️

Different masks, same root — the fear of not being enough.
Healing begins when you release the need to earn your worth and start trusting that you already are enough. 💫
