Office Diaries – Episode 19: The Ripple Effect

A few weeks have passed since Rohan chose to pause — to rest, to reflect, to rebuild.

This week:

The ripples of one honest conversation begin to spread.
At home, Rohan stays consistent — therapy, reflection, better involvement.
A simple chat over coffee with a colleague becomes something more. When Rohan mentions Mental Health First Aid, Priya listens — and a quiet spark of curiosity takes hold.
Sometimes change begins with a conversation… that plants the seed for another.

When conflict, disaster, or crisis strikes, the focus is often on survival: food, water, and medicine. Yet, to truly rebuild lives, mental health must be part of the response.

Did you know?

➡️ 1 in 5 people living in conflict-affected areas experience a mental health condition (WHO,2025).

➡️ Anxiety, fear, and sadness are normal reactions, but without support, they can deepen into lasting trauma.

Mental health and psychosocial care help survivors cope, recover, and rebuild.

They turn despair into resilience and survival into healing.

This World Mental Health Day, let’s advocate for humanitarian responses that care for both body and mind.

Because recovery isn’t complete until mental health is restored.

Office Diaries – Episode 18: The Unspoken is Spoken

Last week, Rohan stood before his team and admitted what he had long denied — that he wasn’t okay. It wasn’t resignation, but recognition. The pause he chose was not to escape, but to repair.

This week:
The hardest conversation waits at home. In the quiet of an ordinary afternoon, Rohan finally speaks to Ananya — not in frustration, but in truth. He apologizes, not only for the words spoken in anger, but for the silence that built around them. For the absence she felt even when he was present.

And Ananya, though hurt, listens. She reminds him of what was always there: love, patience, and a door that never truly closed. Together, they sit in stillness — not with answers, but with honesty.

Office Diaries – Episode 17: The Breakpoint

Last week, the quiet of the park gave Rohan the space to finally speak — about guilt, exhaustion, and the fear of losing himself. With Varun by his side, a small step forward began: honesty, support, and the reminder that he didn’t have to walk alone.

This week:
Back at the office, the silence breaks. Rohan shows up, not hiding, but ready to speak aloud what he’s been carrying in silence. His words aren’t polished, his voice wavers — but he chooses truth.
The team listens. Some surprised, some uneasy, but all willing to understand. Apologies are exchanged, respect is given, and for the first time, the burden shifts from one pair of shoulders to many.

Not every pause means quitting. Sometimes it’s the only way to begin again.

Office Diaries – Episode 16: The Park Conversation

Previous Episode, Rohan’s absence echoed through the office. While his teammates scrambled to hold the line with the vendor, unease replaced routine. The silence he left behind spoke louder than words, hinting at struggles beneath the surface.

This week:

Away from the office noise, Rohan finally slows down. In the stillness of a park, he lets the weight he’s been carrying slip into words. Guilt, fear, exhaustion — they surface at last. Beside him, Varun doesn’t judge, doesn’t push. He listens, steadies, and gently reminds Rohan that he doesn’t have to walk this path alone.

A bottle of water, a few quiet steps, and the smallest glimmer of hope. Sometimes healing begins not with answers, but with being heard.
