The 40th National Science Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at CARE, commemorating the spirit of scientific inquiry, innovation, and research excellence. The event aimed to inspire students to pursue scientific exploration and contribute meaningfully to research and development.

The program commenced with a Welcome Address by Dr. R. Saravanan, Principal, FAHS, CARE. This was followed by the Special Address by Dr. A. Prabhakar, Medical Superintendent, CHRI, and the Presidential Address by Dr. N. Meenakshi, Dean, CHRI.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Hiren Joshi, Scientific Officer–G, Biofouling and Biofilm Processes Section, Water and Steam Chemistry Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Kalpakkam, Chennai, delivered an insightful and inspiring invited lecture that emphasized the importance of research, innovation, and scientific responsibility.

The event also featured a Prize Distribution Ceremony, recognizing winners of various science-related competitions conducted as part of the National Science Day celebrations.

The program concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Shiek SSJ Ahmed, Associate Professor, FAHS, CARE.

The Department of Paediatrics marked Deworming Day with a series of impactful academic and patient-centred activities at Chettinad Hospital & Research Institute.

An interactive patient education programme was conducted in the paediatric ward, where informative posters were presented by paediatric and surgery interns. Faculty from Paediatrics and Surgery actively counselled patients and caregivers, promoting awareness of prevention and management of worm infestations.

Dr Ambujavalli from the Department of Microbiology delivered a guest lecture to paediatric faculty and postgraduate residents on “New Challenges in Paediatric Worm Infestations,” highlighting emerging concerns and updated clinical insights.

Adding academic enthusiasm to the celebrations, Dr. Bhuvaneshwari conducted an engaging Parasitology Quiz for paediatric residents, encouraging knowledge enhancement and active participation.

The programme successfully combined patient awareness, academic enrichment, and interactive learning—reinforcing the commitment of the Department of Paediatrics towards preventive child healthcare and medical education.

The Chettinad Academy of Research and Education – Chettinad School of Physiotherapy successfully organized “Empower Her Care – From Bump to Bounce Back” on February 21, 2026, at A Block Hospital, Demo Hall 86.

Led by Dr. Fouzia Banu (PT), Assistant Professor, CSPT, the awareness and training program focused on antenatal and postnatal physiotherapy—covering pelvic floor muscle training, posture & ergonomic correction, breathing techniques, pain management, therapeutic exercises, and functional rehabilitation.

The session emphasized safe, evidence-based practices to enhance maternal health, recovery, quality of life, preventive care awareness, and early rehabilitation—empowering women through every stage of motherhood. 🌸

The Department proudly signed a Memorandum of Understanding with IIT Madras Research Park and Gerrid Saki Assistive Technologies Pvt. Ltd. to strengthen industry–academia collaboration and accelerate translational research in assistive technologies.

The ceremony was graced by the distinguished leadership of Chettinad Academy of Research and Education — Mrs. Jeyendrasaraswathi, Registrar; Dr. Sridhar, Vice Chancellor; Dr. Meenakshi, Dean, CHRI; Prof. Dr. Sharmila A, Professor & Head, Department of Anatomy; Dr. Sridhar, Senior Consultant Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon; along with Mr. Natarajan Malupillai, CEO, IIT Madras Research Park; and the industry partners Mr. Subramaniam V, Director, and Mr. Venkatesh Chandrasekaran, CEO, Gerrid Saki Assistive Technologies Pvt. On 15th February 2026, Chettinad Academy of Research and Education proudly celebrated its 15th Convocation Ceremony, marking a milestone of academic excellence.
Over 800 graduates, along with their proud families, received their degrees across Medical Sciences, Allied Health Sciences, Physiotherapy, Law, Architecture, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Doctoral programs.
The ceremony was presided over by Chancellor Mrs. Geetha Muthiah, with an inspiring address by Padma Shri awardee Dr. V. Kamakoti, Director of Indian Institute of Technology Madras. Dr. Radhakrishnan, Additional Chief Secretary and Chairman and Managing Director of TNEB, graced the occasion, highlighting the importance of responsible leadership in healthcare and public service
Excellence was honored through prestigious awards — the Rajah Muthiah Award for the Overall Top Performer, the Sigapi Achi Award for Nursing toppers, the Prof. Dr. S. K. Sarin Endowment Medal for excellence in Gastroenterology, and the Dr. K. Rosaiah Endowment Prize for outstanding achievement in Community Health Nursing.
Professor Dr. Sridhar, Vice Chancellor of CARE, presented the Annual Report, reflecting the university’s academic and research milestones.
