Growing up Diwali meant dressing up and visiting grandparents and it was a ritual to eat this plate of yummy Moong chawal Kadhi made by my Bai ( grandma) and sweet treats and gifts from Kakaji, meeting cousins and all the family time and of course sweets, crackers and we would meet a lot of Soan papdi too ( which I actually love)

May be it's true when you are away from home you value and miss every little thing and want to hold on to memories tighter.

What's winter without some fresh pickles?

Fresh pickles bring back memories of childhood something nostalgic about them for me it's a reminder of my roots and a happy place grandmother's cooking.

Not to forget the sun dried pickles . No matter which ones for me it hits home.

So when my nutritionist screams protein supplements I run into the kitchen and cook and share what's on my plate with her. She disagrees with my ways being a vegetarian she feels I can't manage 50 to 70 gram in a day I agree but I hate supplements & love my kitchen and natural sources way too much.

I am difficult that way ha ha. But you listen to your body and your nutritionist. And you do you !
