UBA Village Visit – Molachur Village

A community outreach program under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) initiative was conducted by the students of SIMATS College of Occupational Therapy at Molachur Village. Awareness was created about Occupational Therapy (OT) and its role in rehabilitation. Disability screening was carried out for village residents, and information on disability welfare schemes was provided through pamphlets. The students also interacted with the village head to discuss organizing future health and rehabilitation camps for continued community support.

On 26th January, on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day, SIMATS University proudly celebrated the day at the SIMATS Sports Complex with great patriotism and enthusiasm. Students from SIMATS College of Occupational Therapy actively participated in the march past and cultural programs, showcasing discipline, unity, and talent. The college achieved First Place in the cultural program. Following the celebrations, the students also took part in a tree plantation drive.

A lift-operating client with post-machine-cut injury and multiple upper-limb complications was supported with a custom volar cock-up splint with web spacer, fabricated by PG students at SIMATS College of Occupational Therapy.

The splint helped prevent ulnar deviation, manage flexion contracture, and enabled safe lift operation.
