🌈✨ **Celebrating the Inauguration of Rainbow Children's Hospital in Anna Nagar!** ✨🌈

Today was a day filled with joy and celebration as we marked the opening of the third branch of Rainbow Children's Hospital in Chennai, this time in Anna Nagar. It was an honor to meet the well know a distinguished gynaecologist, Dr. V K Shantha, whose expertise and dedication have undoubtedly contributed immensely to the field along with Dr Nandhini, Gynaecologist.

The event was made even more special by the presence of Dr. Shobana, one of Chennai's top pediatricians and neonatologists, who graciously extended the invitation to me. Her commitment to the well-being of children is truly commendable, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to join her in celebrating this milestone.

As we toured the new hospital facilities, it was evident that Rainbow Children's Hospital continues to uphold its reputation for excellence in pediatric care. The state-of-the-art amenities and the compassionate staff reassured me that this institution will be a beacon of hope for many families in need.

Here's to Rainbow Children's Hospital in Anna Nagar, a place where little ones will receive the best care possible, and where families will find support and comfort during challenging times. Congratulations to the entire team on this momentous occasion! 🎉🏥

Had an enjoyable experience at the ZenStore debut at The Birla Planetarium Campus, India's first revolutionary Career Concept Store for Kids. Mr. Nawabzada Mohamed Asif Ali, Dewan & Heir Apparent to the Prince of Arcot, and his wife Mrs. Seema Ahmed formally inaugurated the store. Interacting with them both was great. My good friend Aashik Rahman and his friends are the brains behind this concept store, best wishes to ZenStore's entire team.

The Centre for Child Rights and Development - CCRD organized a participatory breastfeeding session for pregnant and newly delivered mothers in Chengalpattu district's Tirukazhukundram rural panchayat town. While interacting with the mothers and the panchayat's PHC officials, it was motivating to learn that mothers in rural pockets are ahead of their urban counterparts in terms of breastfeeding their children on the first day of birth. The program was quite interactive, and the CCRD team, led by Mrs Stegana Jency - Director, made commendable attempts to increase awareness about breastfeeding among rural mothers.

It was additionally a great honor to receive the first copy of "Munnani" - an exclusive Child Rights Magazine in Tamil - from the Director of the Centre for Child Rights and Development - CCRD.

You shouldn't require superpowers to juggle breastfeeding and work. Making breastfeeding at work, work, makes societies work! It shouldn't need superhuman abilities to balance breastfeeding and employment. With this message as the theme for World Breastfeeding Week 2023, I was able to speak virtually to approximately 250 female employees of one of India's multinational FMCG companies, Britannia Industries Limited (Trinelveli Factory), about the importance of breastfeeding, how colleagues can help make the breastfeeding and work by being supportive of flexible work arrangements when their colleagues return to work and also championing women's rights in the workplace. It was a very interactive session that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Make breastfeeding and working a success! - Women shouldn't have to decide between working and continuing to breastfeed their children. It is the responsibility of everyone to raise awareness of the most effective practices for supporting breastfeeding in the workplace and to advocate for steps that may be taken to guarantee that breastfeeding is successful for all working women, no matter where they are employed.

It was an honour to participate in the "Ask the Experts!" panel discussion, which was organised by the Vijaya Medical & Educational Trust and the IMA's Chennai Vijaya Branch in observance of "World Breastfeeding Week - 2023," on the theme of supporting breastfeeding in the community. Dr Mala Vijaya Krishnan, Dr Nithya Francklin, Ms Varsha, and Ms Roopa were the panellists in the discussion, which was moderated by Dr Shobana Rajendran. Smt. Bharathi Reddy, Managing Trustee & CEO of Vijaya Hospital, whom I also had the pleasure of meeting, was welcoming and approachable. Even though our panel discussion was scheduled to begin at four, I arrived an hour early to hear Ms. Rekha Sudharsan, one of my favourite and most inspiring people, talk on "Improving Donor Milk Quality."

Overall, the first day of "World Breastfeeding Week 2023" was fantastic.

Not only does breastfeeding require support, but awareness of its importance is also necessary. This is Teena Abishek and it’s my pleasure to let you know a little bit about myself!

I am a registered Midwife, graduated from SRM University (Chennai) and also I have completed my Masters in Psychology from Annamalai University. I received my International certification as a Childbirth and Lactation educator from CAPPA, USA. I counsel pregnant mothers on a physiological birth, healthy lifestyle through exercise, the importance of bonding with the unborn and also conduct postnatal sessions.

I have 8 plus years of solid experience working with women's health. As part of my work as a registered midwife in various renowned hospitals in Chennai (Apollo Hospitals, Vijaya Hospital, Fortis Malar), I keep my professional practice up to date with scientific evidence references to support new future moms to prepare their heart, body, and spirituality for life experience. I have also been a Sr. Lecturer for one of the popular Nursing colleges in Chennai.

Undoubtedly, my most important titles are: being a happy wife and mother of a super boy. As a mother and a professional, I help women prepare for the journey of motherhood and give their first steps as a mother after their baby arrives. My mission is to empower pregnant women and their families through prenatal education and breastfeeding counseling.
