Ho, God!

In the realm of media's light so stark,
I witness a world embroiled in the dark.
A war in the name of land and God does rage,
But can't the Almighty quell this furious stage?

Oh, God, in your name, we yearn for peace,
In every faith, your love does not cease.
Yet when mankind lacks patience and grace,
Why not guide them to a gentler place?

Each child born on this earth's broad sphere,
Deserves to explore without a trace of fear.
But suffering, hunger, and harm they face,
In a world where love should hold its grace.

The eyes of children should mirror your grace,
But they're clouded by tears, and harshness they face.
God, with your healing touch so warm,
Bring peace, comfort, and a loving, sheltering arm.

I won't entrust the governments alone,
For peace's burden is one to be known.
I'll ask you, O God, with a fervent plea,
Stop these killings; let love and harmony be.

Ameen!

Artificial intelligence and algorithms are increasingly used to make life-changing decisions in policing, lending, hiring, renting, health care, and many other realms. The technology has come under fire for encoding and intensifying racial bias. But what if AI could be transformed into a tool for fighting discrimination and inequality? Do you have an idea? Are you looking for an assistance?

15.09.2020 International Day of Democracy

Freedom, respect for human rights and the principle of holding periodic and genuine elections by universal suffrage are essential elements of democracy. International Day of Democracy reminds States of the rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.

Democracy is a form of government in which the people have the authority to choose their governing legislation. Who people are and how authority is shared among them are core issues for democratic theory, development and constitution. Some cornerstones of these issues are freedom of assembly and speech, inclusiveness and equality, membership, consent, voting, right to life and minority rights.

Social activist and Arya Samaj leader Swami Agnivesh passed away Friday at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences in New Delhi. He was 80.

Swami Agnivesh was widely known for his campaign against bonded labour through his foundation Bandhua Mukti Morcha (Bonded Labor Liberation Front).

He was elected to the Haryana Assembly in 1977 and was made education minister after two years. He, however, resigned from the post in protest against the Haryana government’s inaction against police who had opened fire at workers protesting bonded labour.

Swami Agnivesh also led several initiatives to foster peace and interfaith harmony in Kashmir. In 2010, he was tasked by the Congress government to open a dialogue with the Maoist leadership. A year later he was part of the anti-corruption movement led by Anna Hazare.

He is one of the strong believers in human right from the Hindu religion background. Till his last breath, he was working for the upliftment of the bonded labourers and broke communities.

As a social worker ans civil society members, we must learn on social innovations from all his initiatives. More specifically his endeavours in fostering peace and interfaith harmony in Kashmir has enormous scope to learn on social innovations.

We take this opportunity to pay last respect to him.

The good news is coming from the World Health Organization (WHO). The official message says that the vaccine is coming soon.

While I wonder: understanding the growing rightwing global politics, it might also turn bad news to each one of us who are from broken communities and underdeveloped countries.

It's the responsibility of the human futurity to use it responsibly. The government and the agencies must focus on the front-line workers, elderly people and children first.

The philanthropist, good-hearted individuals, foundations and agencies must focus on the underprivileged vaccine target groups.

Let's build the nation with lots of responsibility and safeguard the glob with lots of love and hope.
