Iopa Ofp is committed to bringing high quality continuing education in this new specialty. Always a pleasure to lecture for my branch and kudos to all the office bearers who are doing great things for the branch.

A wonderful 2 days of learning both at the ‘1st International South Asian Orofacial Pain symposium’ organised by Smile USA Academy for Educational Excellence and at the ‘OSA, Snoring Dental Sleep Medicine workshop’ organised by Shore Tmj respectively in Chennai. Privileged to listen to world renowned experts in the subject Dr.Eli Eliav (Director, Eastman Institute of Oral Health, USA), Dr.Ramesh Balasubramaniam (Prof, University of Western Australia), Dr.Davis Thomas and Dr.Shankar Iyer. Eternally in gratitude to Dr.Davis Thomas and Dr.Shankar Iyer for all that they do for education and development of the specialty of Orofacial Pain around the world and in India. Delighted to see a full house in both these programs giving credence to growing interest in this subject.

A wonderful webinar on ‘Systemic factors affecting TMDs and Orofacial Pain’ by Dr.Davis Thomas for Iopa Ofp (Indian Orofacial Pain Association), last night. Brought into focus how many aspects of general medicine Shld be incorporated into our diagnostic capabilities esp in this field and the need to think like ‘Oral Physicians’. The more we learn in this field the more we realise how much we don’t know ! It’s all about constantly updating and educating oneself. Delighted to share the inauguration of the ‘Indian Orofacial Pain Association (IOPA)’, a specialty which is crucial for every general and specialty dental practice in the country. Honoured and grateful to be indicted as the ‘Founder President’ of the same. Along with a dedicated team of founder members and other trained specialists in this field we look forward to spreading the knowledge of evidence-based practice and management in this field. Grateful for all the wishes and support for this endeavour !
