Clinical Series | Sclero-corneal Cyst
Sclero-corneal cysts in children can be challenging to manage, especially when they are multiloculated or extend deep into the stroma. In this case, cyst excision with lamellar keratoplasty restored clarity and structure with an excellent outcome.
A key surgical principle in such cysts is ensuring complete removal of the epithelial lining, which significantly reduces the risk of recurrence. Although chemical ablation may be considered in some situations, the size and configuration of this cyst made surgical excision the preferred approach.
At CODE Eye Care, thoughtful evaluation and meticulous surgical planning play a major role in delivering successful outcomes in rare corneal pathologies.
