It is said that Lord Vishnu has taken form as the 9 Grahas, the planetary beings/entities through which our karmas are delivered. Each Graha is ruled by a Vishnu avatar, an emanation of Lord Vishnu himself.

From Brihat Parashara Hora Sastra it says:
Ch. 2. Great Incarnations - V. 3-4.
ā€œThe unborn Lord has many incarnations. He has taken form, as the 9 (Nava) Grahas (planets) to bestow on the living beings the results due to their Karmas. He is Janardan. He assumed the auspicious form of Grahas to destroy the demons (evil forces) and sustain the divine beings.ā€

V. 8-13.
ā€œThe Jivatma portions from the Grahas take births, as human beings and live their lives
according to their Karmas and again merge in the Grahas. And at the time of Great Destruction the Grahas as well merge in Lord Vishnu. The one, who knows of all these, will become versed in the knowledge of the past, present and future.

Lord Krishna is the Avatar of the moon. This means that when we read the stories of Krishna, especially the devotional stories of love and bhakti, we are connecting to the divine energy of the Moon. That is, ā€œpure loveā€, not just ā€œemotional desiresā€ (k**a).
Lord Krishna was born when the Moon was in Rohini, the favorite ā€œwifeā€ of the Moon God, Chandra. Rohini means ā€œgrowth or growingā€. It shows a heart connected to the feeling of growth and depth, which supports the transformation of your emotional desires toward devotion.

About Exercises and Meditations for the Mūlādhāra Chakra :-

Exercises -

Kriyā Yoga
is the best practice to awaken the Mūlādhāra Chakra and purify the Karmas.
The initiation into Kriyā Yoga is given to the aspirant by the spiritual Master.

Āshvinī Mudrā
is a very effective exercise to raise the unconscious into consciousness.
Āshva means horse, and Mudrā means a position of the body. With this exercise the a**l muscles are repeatedly contracted and relaxed (just like a horse when it sheds its droppings).

Mahāmudrā

Starting Position: Sit on the floor. One leg is straight and the other leg is bent so the heel is beneath the buttock. Exhaling bend forward and take hold of the toes of the straight leg with both hands. Raise the head and look upwards. Remain in this position for a few minutes breathing normally.

Mandukī Mudrā (also known as Bhadrāsana)

Starting Position: Vajrāsana (sitting on the heels). Separate the legs far enough so that the buttocks can rest on the floor. Exhaling and keeping the back straight, bend forward and place the hands on the floor between the knees. Arms can be straight or bent – whatever is comfortable. The fingers point outwards and you look towards the tip of the nose. Remain in this position for a few minutes breathing normally.

This exercise protects us against harmful emissions, detoxifies the body and has a grounding influence, as well as improving the sense of smell and concentration.

Other helpful exercises are:
Mūla Bandha
Yoga Mudrā
Shalabhāsana
Paschimottānāsana
Dhanurāsana
Tādāgī Mudrā

Meditation Practice for Awakening the Mūlādhāra Chakra -

Exhale and, without breathing, perform Āshvinī Mudrā twice.
Inhale and be aware of how a current of energy rises along the spinal column.
Again perform Āshvinī Mudrā twice without breathing, and then exhale.
Feel how the energy spreads through the whole body and tensions dissolve.
Perform this exercise for 5 minutes.

Relax and feel the after effects of the exercise for a few minutes.
Throughout the exercise remain as an observer, without judgement and without losing yourself in the feelings as they surface. Feel how the waves of energy rise within the body and how they gently spread. Feel an inner purification and be aware of your inner light.
Now direct your consciousness to the centre of your chest. Feel peace and love. Open your heart and feel all living things as a part of your own Self. Feel how the stream of energy that rises from the MÅ«lādhāra Chakra awakens very pleasant feelings within you. See within your inner space a red light – the colour of the sunset or the embers of a fire. Recognise that you, yourself, are the mid-point from which this light radiates. Bring your most beautiful thoughts and feelings to this expression and allow it to radiate out into the Universe with a feeling of deep love, warmth and bliss.
Slowly bring your awareness back to your body.
Inhale deeply and sing OM three times.
