Early detection of this deadly jaw infection in Corona times can save surgical removal of Jaws and Eyes too.

Mucormycosis is a fungal infection on a very high rise currently in covid times.Its suspected to be related to increased immunosuppression due to Steroids, Covid infection .
Vulnerability is more in diabetics, those on long term steroids for other issues, HIV,HBV infected individuals.

But it has also been found in healthy individuals as well currently, 60 % of these cases had already been tested positive and 35 % more had not tested positive but had antibodies, suggesting a strong correlation with covid infection.

Only way to prevent massive damage is early detection from a ENT or Dentist.
No harm in scheduling a routine checkup with one of the above to be on safer side.

Any oral /ear pain with high intensity for no routine reason could be Mucormycosis.
