Bishmacharya Award – An Emotional Moment

During the inauguration of the new building of Sre Iswarya Hospital, Padma Shri Dr. G. Bakthavathsalam, Chairman – KG Hospital, Coimbatore, was honoured with the Bishmacharya Award on behalf of Sre Iswarya Hospital and Iswarya Foundation, in the presence of the medical fraternity.

A special photo collage of Dr. G. Bakthavathsalam and Dr. D. Parameswaran was also presented, capturing memorable moments from their journey together – including the RS Puram hospital inauguration, Chinnathadagam hospital inauguration, family moments, and several medical events.

Seeing the “Dr. GB and Me” photo frame was a deeply emotional moment, as it brought tears to Dr. G. Bakthavathsalam’s eyes while recalling those cherished memories.

In his speech, he proudly said that Dr. Parameswaran is his student, and expressed how proud he is to see his student serving society with such dedication.

He also mentioned that while many students may forget their teachers over time, Dr. Parameswaran has always respected and remembered his mentor, which made him very proud.

He appreciated the dedication of Dr. Parameswaran, who started the hospital with a vision of serving the community through medical care.

Through Iswarya Foundation, he has conducted:
• More than 100 medical camps
• Distribution of free medicines and anaemia tablets
• Financial support for children’s education and sports
• Various community healthcare initiatives

This moment beautifully reflected the true meaning of a mentor–student relationship and a shared commitment to service to society.
