You’ll lose things anyway. Life makes sure of that.

So don’t ask, “What if I lose?”
Ask, “What if I waste my only life being careful?”

For all the over-thinkers reading this like me :

There’s a version of you that learned to over-explain everything in order to keep the peace. You weren’t trying to be dramatic — you were trying to prevent conflict, prevent rejection, prevent the feeling of being “too much” for people who were never capable of meeting you with understanding in the first place. That habit comes from survival, not weakness.

But healing teaches you something different: people who genuinely care about you don’t need paragraphs to believe your intentions. They don’t twist your words, they don’t assume the worst, and they don’t make you feel like your truth is something you have to defend. They ask questions. They clarify. They stay connected instead of reactive.

You don’t owe endless explanations to people who are committed to misunderstanding you. You don’t have to soften your truth to manage someone else’s emotions. You don’t have to fear being honest.

The right people won’t punish your voice — they’ll make room for it. And slowly, you will stop explaining to avoid being hurt and start speaking from a place of confidence, knowing that how someone chooses to interpret you says far more about their wounds than your worth. 🖤
