*Fenugreek or Methi* leaves are one of the most widely used green leafy vegetables. These aromatic leaves enhance flavour and also have many health benefits. They are rich in *dietary fibre* that reduces constipation, promotes regular bowel movements, and *improves digestion*. The high beta carotene and vitamin c content of Methi help to *build* the body’s *immune system* to fight against common diseases. These leaves are a rich source of vitamin K and help in preventing bone loss and osteoporosis. Methi leaves are useful in *managing anemia* as they have high folate content. They are also beneficial for the heart as they *reduce cholesterol* levels. One can add Methi leaves to Parathas or regular dal or into the rice.

In Ayurveda, *cabbage* is known to have *dry, cold*, clear, and sweet qualities. This makes it better for Pittas and Kaphas, particularly during late winter and spring when our bodies are in need of cleansing. Cabbage is a nutritional powerhouse. It is *rich in antioxidant vitamins and dietary fiber* and low in calories which makes it a great weight loss aid. Cabbage builds muscle, *cleanses the blood* and strengthens the eyes. It is in fact, recommended for improving digestion, treating constipating, preventing the common cold and *alleviating depression*. One can drink *half a cup of cabbage juice* two or three times a day between meals, on an empty stomach.

Thus, it is used as a general *tonic* in debility and weakness. They are *good for joints* also as they help to reduce inflammation, pain, swelling and improve mobility. Walnuts are an excellent nervine and *brain tonic* thanks to rich content of vitamin E, Folate and omega 3 fatty acids. One can eat them raw or roasted.
