First Aid for Eye Burn Injuries – Act Fast, Act Right!
An eye burn caused by firecrackers is a medical emergency. Knowing the right first aid can save someone's vision.
🔴 DO’s:
✅ Immediately rinse the eye with clean, cool water for at least 15–20 minutes
✅ Keep the eye open while flushing — gently hold the eyelids apart
✅ Remove contact lenses only if easy to do so
✅ Seek immediate medical attention – don’t delay
❌ DON’T:
🚫 Rub the eye
🚫 Apply ointments, drops, or home remedies
🚫 Use dirty water or ice
🚫 Delay getting professional care
Burn injuries to the eye can lead to permanent damage if not treated quickly. When in doubt — head straight to an eye care specialist.
