If you’re new here, meet Dr. Shirin.

MBBS → MD Dermatology → Fellowship-level training from PGIMER, one of India’s top medical institutes.

6+ years of treating acne, pigmentation, scarring, hairfall, and aesthetic dermatology backed by evidence-based protocols, not trends.

She specialises in:
• Clinical dermatology: acne, melasma, PCOS skin, chronic pigmentary disorders
• Procedural dermatology: chemical peels, microneedling, PRP, lasers
• Injectables: Botox, fillers, advanced facial anatomy-driven treatments
• Barrier repair + long-term skin planning: building medical routines that actually work, not overwhelm

If her content feels “direct,” it’s because it comes from:
– thousands of patient cases

Everyone talks about “good skin,” but here’s what that actually means from a dermatologist’s lens 👇

I’ve had acne. I’ve had texture. I’ve done the trial-and-error skincare cycle like everyone else.

It took me years (and a lot of learning) to realise that healthy skin isn’t about perfect products, it’s about understanding your barrier, your habits, and your biology.

Here’s exactly what changed my skin and what I’d recommend to anyone who’s tired of guessing.

If you’ve been battling acne and feel like nothing works, this one’s for you.

As a dermatologist and someone who’s been through it myself, I know how frustrating it can be.

Here’s the truth: acne isn’t about “bad skin.” It’s about understanding what your skin actually needs.
Salicylic acid unclogs pores.
Retinoids regulate oil and cell turnover.
And consistent, guided care makes all the difference.

Stop experimenting. Start healing with the right plan.

A lot of you romanticise injectables until something goes wrong.
So let me be very clear.

Titles like “advanced aesthetic practitioner” don’t guarantee competency. Dermatology is a medical specialty for a reason; you need someone who understands anatomy, dosing, adverse effects, and how to manage complications.

Botox isn’t cheap. If you see it being sold like a salon add-on, that’s your sign to walk away.
It’s also not permanent. It needs maintenance.
And bruising? No one, literally no one can promise you won’t bruise.

Collagen creams won’t replace medical-grade retinoids or SPF.
And if your filler has migrated, it’s almost always a technique issue, not your face “rejecting” it.

If you’re considering injectables, go to someone trained to treat skin and trained to fix things when they don’t go perfectly.
Your face is not the place to gamble.

If you want a part 2 on injectables, comment INJECT below.

Everyone keeps DMing me about the Inde Wild hair oil, so here’s the truth you actually need to hear.

A hair oil cannot stop hair fall.
It can make your hair look smoother, shinier, less frizzy; yes.
But reducing hair fall by “50% in 28 days”? That’s simply not how the hair cycle works.

Oil doesn’t pe*****te to the follicle.
Oil doesn’t change your growth cycle.
Oil doesn’t fix internal deficiencies or hormonal triggers.

This isn’t about Inde Wild specifically, this applies to any hair oil or “miracle” shampoo being marketed as a hair-fall cure.

If hair fall is your concern, look at the actual evidence-based solutions: scalp conditions, nutritional deficiencies, medical triggers, proven actives, and consistent treatment plans.

Most of skincare is not glamorous. It’s physiology, consistency, and cutting through noise.

These are the small, unsexy corrections that actually change your skin: using SPF as your base tint, checking deficiencies before buying treatments, understanding that hydration is a barrier issue, not a water bottle issue and knowing that celebrity skin is a production, not a standard. Retinol still works, but only when you use the right strength for your skin.

Simple, evidence-based, affordable habits will always outperform trends. Let me know which one shocked you the most.

Everyone says air dry your hair, it’s the healthiest but that’s not entirely true.
Keeping your hair wet for too long actually weakens the cuticle, stretches the strand, and leads to more breakage… and yes, it can even dull your expensive hair color.

The safer option?
Blow-dry on a medium setting, keep the dryer 15 cm away, and stop letting your hair stay wet for hours.

Controlled heat is kinder than prolonged moisture.
