Challenging behaviors in autism aren’t random.
They’re responses to sensory overload, communication difficulties, or emotional overwhelm.
Our role isn’t to control—but to understand, adapt, and support

🌈 Learning in Autism Awareness 🌈
Learning in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is unique, not weak.
Every child learns at their own pace and in their own way.
Children with autism may learn better through: ✨ Visual supports
✨ Repetition and routine
✨ Multisensory activities (touch, movement, sound, visuals)
✨ One-to-one guidance
✨ Structured and predictable environments
With the right support, early intervention, and understanding, children with autism can develop: ✔ Communication skills
✔ Social interaction
✔ Attention and focus
✔ Cognitive and academic abilities
✔ Independence in daily life
At Sshabd Rehabilitation Center, we believe in strength-based learning, where abilities are nurtured and challenges are supported with care, patience, and evidence-based therapy.
💙 Different ways of learning. Same right to grow. 💙

Shabd Rehabilitation Center — Autism & Yoga Awareness
Shabd Rehabilitation Center provides occupational therapy, speech therapy, special education, early intervention, and support for people with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other challenges.
Yoga support: While specific public events on yoga for autism by this center aren’t widely published online, many rehabilitation centres integrate yoga or movement-based activities as part of holistic autism awareness and therapy programs because yoga can help with motor skills, focus, calmness, and emotional regulation in autistic children.
Across India, events like Run for Autism or programs on yoga & exercise for autism help increase community understanding — showing that practising yoga and breathwork can support autistic people’s well-being.
🧘‍♀️ Yoga & Autism — General Benefits
Yoga is often used in autism-focused programs because it can:
Promote calmness, relaxation and emotional regulation through breathing and mindful movement.
Help motor skills and balance

Multisensory Approach in Autism Awareness
Children with Autism learn and understand the world differently.
A multisensory approach supports learning by engaging more than one sense at a time—such as seeing, hearing, touching, and movement.
At Sshabd Rehabilitation Center, multisensory therapy helps children to:
✨ Improve attention and focus
✨ Develop speech and language skills
✨ Enhance sensory processing
✨ Reduce sensory overload and behavioral challenges
✨ Support emotional regulation and social interaction
By using visual aids, tactile activities, sounds, movement, and play-based techniques, therapy becomes more meaningful, engaging, and effective for children with Autism.
Every child is unique.
Through multisensory learning, we respect each child’s strengths and help them grow with confidence, comfort, and care 💙
📍 Early support makes a difference .

💙 Autism Awareness 💙
Autism is not a disability — it is a different way of experiencing the world.
Every child on the autism spectrum has unique strengths, abilities, and potential.
With early support, understanding, patience, and the right therapy, children with autism can grow, learn, and thrive in their own beautiful way 🌈
Let us create a world where differences are accepted,
kindness is practiced,
and every child is given a chance to shine ✨
Together, we can build awareness, acceptance, and inclusion.

Behaviour Issues in Autism – Awareness
Children with Autism may show behaviours such as:
• Difficulty in communication
• Repetitive actions
• Sensory sensitivities (sound, light, touch)
• Emotional outbursts or withdrawal
• Difficulty with change or transitions
These behaviours are not misbehaviour — they are a way of expressing unmet needs, stress, or sensory overload.
With early identification, structured support, behaviour therapy, and understanding, positive changes are possible.
Awareness leads to acceptance.
Support leads to progress.
Every child is unique and capable.

Common Behaviour Challenges Seen in Autism
1. Meltdowns
Intense emotional responses (crying, shouting, dropping to the floor)
Caused by sensory overload, frustration, or sudden changes
❗ Not tantrums (they are not done on purpose)
2. Aggression (towards self or others)
Hitting, biting, head-banging, throwing objects
Often linked to:
Communication difficulties
Pain or discomfort
Feeling overwhelmed
3. Self-Stimulatory Behaviours (Stimming)
Hand flapping, rocking, spinning, humming
Helps the person self-regulate emotions or sensory input
Usually not harmful and should not be stopped unless unsafe
4. Repetitive or Rigid Behaviours
Repeating words/actions
Insistence on routines
Difficulty handling change
Provides predictability and comfort
5. Avoidance or Withdrawal
Avoiding eye contact
Preferring to be alone
Appearing “unresponsive”
Often due to social overload, not disinterest
6. Sensory-Related Behaviours
Covering ears, refusing certain clothes/foods
Strong reactions to lights, sounds, textures
Sensory processing differences are core to autism
