A commendable move by the *Goa government* in collaboration with the *Defeat-NCD India Foundation*. initiated a training program on pain and palliative care for all Goa medical staff, including doctors, nursing officers, CHCs, PHCs, and all district level hospitals. started the first batch with a great response. taught about fifty physicians and nurses.There is still more work to be done, but I must commend all parties involved for realizing how crucial it is to teach the primary center about pain and palliative care. It will ease the strain on tertiary care hospitals while also demonstrating sound governance.The public's best interest. I am in awe of Dr. Shahid Hasan of Goa Medical College, who organized this event all by himself.Special thanks to Dr Pratibha for managing everything so well. Thanks to Dr Anupama Borkar madam for boosting our moral, sparing time out of her very busy schedule, offering guest lectures and ensuring all attendees for full support at all levels.
