My dear friends,
It isn’t easy to operate upon an uncontrolled diabetic and hypertensive patient with bilateral recurrent inguinal hernia when open and laparoscopic surgery were conducted in the past thus violating both areas of surgery. Robotic surgery offers 3D vision with great precision and perfect haemostasis so as to perform a successful surgery in a complex cases.

It’s a great challenge to perform an urgent laparoscopic cholecystectomy for empyema gallbladder in an elderly patient with multiple comorbidities with fixed flexion deformity at hip joints, holding both lower limbs with various methods and interference with assistant holding camera and surgeon’s operating forceps was quite an humbling attempt, somehow finally successfully completed the surgery. Thanks to my juniors, anaesthesia team and the staff who made it possible to hold the anaesthetised patient in a good position do as to finish the procedure.

A young IT professional presented with pain in abdomen lasting for 5 days, tachycardia, hypotension, lower abdomen guarding and rigidity, high white cell counts, CT abdomen confirmed the Dx of Acute Appendicitis with perforation peritonitis, went through successful Diagnostic Laparoscopy, suction of pus and debris, appendicectomy and drainage of peritoneal cavity.

Younger sister (84 Yrs) of a Veteran Gynaecologist wasn’t happy with the treatment she received from many of our colleagues for right flank and lower abdominal pain for last few months. A provisional Dx of right Femoral Hernia, was confirmed with CT lower abdomen with obturator Hernia, went through a successful Laparoscopic Femoral Hernioplasty, had a fantastic post operative recovery.
