Step-by-Step process for moving off in a manual car.

How to Start Moving a Manual Car
Press the clutch pedal: Push the clutch pedal (the leftmost pedal) all the way down to the floor with your left foot.
Select 1st gear: Use the gear stick to shift into 1st gear (usually pushing left and up).
Press the accelerator: Gently press the gas pedal (the rightmost pedal) with your right foot until the rev counter (tachometer) needle sits between the 1 and 2 marks.
Find the bite point: Slowly lift your left foot off the clutch pedal until you feel the "bite point." This is the friction zone where the engine connects to the wheels, and the car will feel like it wants to move forward.
Release the handbrake: While holding the pedals steady at the bite point, push the button on the handbrake and lower it completely.
Release the clutch: As the car starts to move forward, slowly and smoothly release the clutch pedal the rest of the way while maintaining pressure on the accelerator.
