On World Obesity Day (4th March), we stand united with the Indian Academy of Pediatrics to take action against childhood obesity.

As pediatricians, we are not just healthcare providers - we are advocates for healthier habits, stronger families, and brighter futures. Every consultation is an opportunity to guide, prevent, and empower.

Childhood obesity is not just about weight. It affects confidence, mental health, long-term well-being, and the risk of lifestyle diseases. The solution begins early - at home, in schools, and in our clinics.

Let’s encourage:
✔ 60 minutes of physical activity every day
✔ Balanced, nutritious home-cooked meals
✔ Reduced screen time
✔ Regular growth & BMI monitoring
✔ Saying NO to JUNCS (Junk, Ultra-processed, Nutritionally inappropriate, Carbonated, Sugary foods)

Together, we can shift the focus from treatment to prevention.
Together, we can build a healthier generation.

Hearing loss in children often goes unnoticed and by the time it’s detected, precious time is lost.

The good news? Most childhood hearing loss is preventable with early screening, timely treatment, and safe listening habits.

Let’s protect our children’s hearing today so they can speak, learn, and connect tomorrow.

Repeated infections in children after COVID-19 are being widely labeled as “low immunity.”
However, the reality is more complex.

The pandemic did not just expose children to a virus - it disrupted their entire lifestyle. Sleep cycles were altered, physical activity reduced, sunlight exposure limited, and stress levels increased. Dietary patterns changed, gut health was affected, and screen time replaced outdoor play.

Immunity is not a switch that can be turned on with supplements. It is a system built gradually through balanced nutrition, proper sleep, outdoor activity, emotional stability, and mindful medical care.

Excessive antibiotics and unnecessary supplementation can, in fact, weaken natural immune regulation and contribute to antibiotic resistance.

What our children need today is not aggressive “immune boosting,” but patient immune rebuilding through healthy routines and evidence-based care.

Let us focus on restoring balance - because immunity is built, not purchased.

A Historic Step Towards Protecting India’s Daughters | 28/02/2026

Heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Hon’ble Union Health Minister J. P. Nadda for launching the HPV vaccination campaign.

Cervical cancer remains one of the leading cancers among Indian women yet it is largely preventable through timely HPV vaccination. This launch marks a powerful national commitment to safeguarding the health, dignity, and future of our girls.

I, Dr. Neelam Mohan, pledge our full support in spreading awareness, strengthening trust in vaccination, and ensuring the successful implementation of this campaign just as pediatricians contributed during the polio eradication movement.

Together, let us protect generations and build a healthier India.

Today marks a historic step for India 🇮🇳

The Government of India has planned the national rollout of the HPV (Human Papillomavirus) vaccine
A major milestone in the prevention of cervical cancer.

Did you know?
In 2022 alone, India reported nearly 1,27,000 new cases of cervical cancer and almost 80,000 deaths in women in India.
It is the second most common cancer among women in our country.
The most important fact it is caused by a virus (HPV) and it is preventable.

Yes, preventable.

With timely HPV vaccination, we can protect young girls from developing cervical cancer in the future. This vaccine has already been administered in more than 160 countries and over 137 million doses have been given globally, proving it to be safe and effective.

Several Indian states like Delhi, Punjab, and Sikkim have already taken steps to include it in their state programs and now, with a national rollout, we are moving towards a stronger, healthier India.

Cervical cancer is one of the very few cancers that can be prevented with a vaccine.
Let us spread awareness. Let us remove fear and misinformation.
Let us commit to timely vaccination for every eligible girl.

A small step today can save countless lives tomorrow.

Together, let’s build a cervical cancer-free India. 🇮🇳
Jai Hind.

As parents, our greatest responsibility is to protect our children’s future.

Cervical cancer claims over 3.5 lakh lives in LMICs every year — yet it is one of the most preventable cancers.

✔ HPV vaccination is safe.
✔ It does NOT cause infertility.
✔ It works best between 9–14 years of age.

Early vaccination means stronger, longer protection.

This cervical cancer awareness month, let’s choose facts over fear and science over rumors.

A simple vaccine today can safeguard a lifetime.

She was given a higher-than-prescribed dose of a common medicine.

That overdose led to acute liver and kidney failure.

This was not a rare drug.
Not a toxic substance.
Just an incorrect dose.

Thankfully, she reached the hospital in time and recovered successfully. 🙏

This case is a powerful reminder:

• Never increase the dose on your own
• Never repeat doses without medical advice
• Always double-check the prescription
• When in doubt, consult your pediatrician

In children, even small dosing errors can become life-threatening.

Awareness prevents emergencies.
Right dosing saves lives. 💛

Most of your child’s brain develops before age 5.
Iron deficiency during this window can affect learning, behavior, and growth for life. This isn’t just about low haemoglobin.

It’s about protecting your child’s future.
Check. Supplement if needed. Don’t delay.

We’ve talked. We’ve posted. We’ve shared facts.
But anemia is still stealing childhoods.

Now is the time to move from words to action in clinics, schools, homes, and communities.

If you care about children’s futures, don’t just watch.
Share this. Be part of the change.

A child can look lean and healthy yet still have fatty liver.
It’s not just about weight, it’s about metabolic health.

Sugar, junk food, screen time, poor sleep, and genetics all play a role.
Let’s protect our children with healthier habits today for a stronger tomorrow.

You gave the iron.
You followed the advice.
But the haemoglobin didn’t improve.

What if the answer isn’t more iron
but the right diagnosis?
Don’t lose time treating the wrong cause.
