o bring about change we have increased the life expectancy of Indians from below 40 years at independence to about 70 now. Given proper support we could in the next ten years increase that to over 100 such is the pace of human scientific invention. Remember that 95% of all human inventions have come about since 1990. And yet we are exploited not only by businessmen who own hospitals and the bureaucracy but also treated as soft targets by the media and the common man. Doctors are beaten up their reputations besmirched and now by imposing a horrendous Clinical establishment act they would be reduced to the levels of bonded laborers vulnerable to the evils of a venal Inspector Raj
Yes a doctor sometimes makes mistakes, but he is human. Yes a small percentage indulges in questionable practices but in a country where upto 95% of people in some professions are corrupt , 90% of doctors are still honest.
