A few decades ago, the age of puberty was 14-15 years old. However nowadays it has reduced to as early as 8-9 years old.
There are many factors involved in this like Nutritional status, Environment and emotional well-being all affect pubertal timing. Nutritional changes have a key role in this.
Few changes can help our girls to prevent early puberty.
1. Exposure to sunlight: Vitamin D deficiency is linked to Early puberty, So make sure that your child gets enough of it.
2. Seasonal fruits and vegetables: Ensure your child eats well-balanced meals, focusing on natural and seasonal food rather than packed or processed food.
3. Physical Activity: Our kids are spending more time on digital devices and due to this their physical activity is restricted and they are gaining weight leading to high BMI and contributing to Early puberty.
4. Reduce plastic use: I would rather say stop plastic use because they have phthalates which are endocrine disruptors. Try to use steel or glass containers instead.
5. Limit fragrance products: Instead of it use natural essential oils. The compounds in scented candles interfere with the synthesis, secretion, transport, activity, and/or elimination of natural hormones. They can also block and mimic hormone action, causing a wide range of effects.
