The Department of Anatomy, National Dental College, Derabassi celebrated World Anatomy Day on 8th December 2025 under the guidance of Dr. Kuntal Vashishtha (HOD) and Mr. David Solomon (Lecturer). The event, titled “Anatomania,” aimed to emphasize the importance of anatomy as the foundation of medical and dental education.

The program was graced by the Chairman sir Col. GS Sandhu, Principal sir Dr. Vinay S Dua, and HODs of various departments, with active participation from undergraduate students and faculty. Activities included an inaugural address highlighting the clinical relevance of anatomy, an anatomy quiz, poster presentations, model and chart exhibitions, and academic learning stations to strengthen practical understanding. Creative anatomy-based art and cultural performances by 1st and 2nd year students added enthusiasm to the event. Winners were awarded prizes and certificates during the prize distribution ceremony. The celebration concluded with a valedictory session appreciating the collective efforts of students and faculty.

The Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics,
National Dental College & Hospital, Dera Bassi, organized a
Continuing Dental Education (CDE) program and Hands on titled
“Redefining Endodontic Practice: The Rotary Revolution”
on 21st January 2026, in association with Dentsply Sirona.
The program aimed to update participants on recent advances
in rotary endodontics and was attended by faculty members and
postgraduate students. Dr. Avinash Patil (MDS – Conservative
Dentistry & Endodontics) served as the Guest Speaker and
delivered an informative lecture covering diagnosis, treatment
planning, canal preparation, cleaning and shaping, threedimensional obturation, and management of endodontic
procedural errors, supported by clinical case discussions.
Following the lecture session, a hands-on demonstration was
conducted providing practical exposure to contemporary rotary
instrumentation systems. The program was interactive,
informative, and well received by all participants, contributing
significantly to enhancement of clinical knowledge and skills in
endodontic practice.
