The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.” - Luke 1:35

When the world is burdened by greed, pride and restless desires, hope finds a gentle way to emerge. In a quiet corner of the world, far removed from power and glory, Jesus was born as a promise that light never abandons humanity. This birth carried the eternal truth: love does not require force to lead and compassion can soften even the hardest of hearts. From the humblest beginnings came the assurance that peace can flourish even in the darkest of times.

In a world racing towards success amidst noise and division, these teachings remind us to slow down and choose kindness over conflict. To show empathy instead of judgment and to stand for compassion during times of indifference. Christmas serves as a reminder that humanity continues to heal through love and even the smallest acts of goodness possess the power to change lives.

The Literary Society wishes everyone a very happy Christmas. May your days be filled with peace, your homes with warmth and your hearts with a kindness that remains long after the season has passed.

Jharkhand lifting the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy feels less like a sudden triumph and more like a river finally reaching the sea it had been flowing towards for years. This victory carries the weight of patience, of countless mornings spent on modest grounds, of talent shaped quietly away from the spotlight. It is a reminder that Jharkhand’s cricketing story has never lacked ability, only the moment when belief and opportunity aligned. When the team stood tall at the end, it felt as if the state itself had found a long-awaited voice.

Entering the tournament as underdogs, they defied what norms dictate. Match after match, without spectacle but with clarity. Each game demanded adaptability, whether chasing under pressure or defending modest totals. The consistency was not accidental, but the outcome of preparation, calm decision-making, and a shared understanding of roles, where individual egos quietly stepped aside for the collective purpose.

On this proud milestone, the Literary Society extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Jharkhand team. May this moment continue to inspire quiet confidence and an enduring pursuit of excellence in every journey ahead.

Stardust is a story of magic, destiny, and unlikely love, where Tristran Thorn steps beyond the familiar world to chase a fallen star and discovers who he truly is. Neil Gaiman’s novel blends whimsy with shadows, weaving fairy-tale charm with quiet darkness. The film adaptation turns this into a brighter, more playful adventure, filled with humor, spectacle, and sweeping romance. Both versions enchant, but the novel’s blend of myth and melancholy gives it a more haunting, grown-up edge.

The Movie vs. the Book

1. Tristran and Yvaine
In the novel, their bond grows quietly, shaped by subtle emotion and self-discovery.
On screen, their relationship becomes more romantic and dramatic, turning them into a classic, charming fantasy couple.

2. Villains and Magic
The book’s witches and magical forces feel eerie, grounded in folklore and mystery.
The film makes them grander and more theatrical, adding flair and comedy that shift the tone toward adventure.

3. The Ending
Gaiman’s ending is bittersweet reflective, mature, and tinged with the weight of time.
The movie delivers a triumphant, feel-good finale, offering emotional closure rather than quiet reflection.

While the movie dazzles with warmth and spectacle, the novel lingers with deeper magic its mix of shadow and wonder reminding readers that fairy tales aren’t always soft.

Which version enchants you more the film’s glowing charm or the book’s quiet, spellbinding depth?

The Maze Runner is a story of survival, identity, and the search for truth, where Thomas’s arrival in the Glade sparks a journey that pushes the limits of fear, teamwork, and human resilience. James Dashner’s novel blends action with mystery, pulling readers into a deadly maze filled with secrets, shifting alliances, and a world far bigger and darker than it first appears. The film adaptation captures the intensity and scale visually, but the book’s deeper world-building and psychological tension remain its greatest strengths.

The Movie vs. the Book

1.Thomas’s Character

In the book, Thomas’s thoughts, instincts, and emotional struggles are explored in depth, making his bravery and doubt equally compelling.
On screen, Thomas appears more straightforwardly heroic, with less focus on his inner conflict and the complexity of his connection to the Maze.

2.The Mystery

Dashner’s novel reveals clues gradually about WICKED, the Gladers’ pasts, and the Maze itself, creating a layered sense of danger and curiosity.
The movie simplifies and accelerates many of these mysteries, placing greater emphasis on action rather than the slow, puzzle-like unraveling found in the book.

3.The Ending

In the novel, the ending delivers twisted revelations about WICKED and the real world, leaving readers shocked and full of questions.
The film, however, leans toward cinematic impact, highlighting dramatic escape sequences instead of the book’s deeper emotional and ethical implications.

How might the story’s impact and characters evolve if the film adaptation delved more deeply into the psychological depth and moral complexity portrayed in the novel?

Behind every steady home stands a man who carries more than anyone truly sees. He wakes before the sun, shoulders responsibilities like a silent mountain, and walks through storms without letting his family feel a drop of rain. In his hands lies the strength that keeps a house standing, yet in his heart lives a tenderness he rarely allows himself to show. He grants wishes quietly, placing his family’s dreams above his own, slipping out of the priority list so others can shine.

But even the strongest trees need rest, and even the tallest waves break when the tide becomes too heavy. Men are no different. They also feel the weight of expectations, the pressure of always being “strong”. They also deserve a shoulder to lean on, a moment to breathe, and a space to simply exist without armour.

On this Men’s Day, the Literary Society extends heartfelt wishes to every man who gives more than he receives and stands even when no one notices. May you find the support, understanding, and care you have longed for.

Twenty-five years after its formation, Jharkhand stands tall with a voice that is proud and determined. The land once known only for dense forests and ancient hills now shines with growing cities, new institutions, and rising opportunities. Nature has gifted this state coal-rich soil, majestic waterfalls, and tribal traditions that feel like living poetry, and together they have shaped a unique identity that continues to strengthen with every passing year.

Yet even in this journey of progress, some paths remain unfinished. There are places where development hasn’t reached deeply enough, and voices that still wait to be heard. Jharkhand’s true rise lies in unity—in people coming together like strands of the same thread to weave a stronger, brighter tomorrow. When effort becomes collective, even the most difficult mountains turn into milestones.

On 25th Foundation Day, the Literary Society sends heartfelt wishes to every citizen of Jharkhand. May the state continue to grow with pride, harmony, and hope, and may its people always carry forward the spirit that makes this land extraordinary.

”Children see magic because they look for it.” -Christopher Moore

Children don’t just observe the world; they question it with their hearts wide open. In their questions lies the magic that we, as adults, forget to see. With curious eyes they see, with open hands they welcome love, and with open arms they give it back. Somewhere between their laughter and our memories, we realise how fleeting that innocence was, and what we once were before the world grew louder.

As fruits are shaped by care, so are we by childhood. Children can be envisioned as the blooming buds of a nation’s garden, the truest hopes of tomorrow. Yet even a garden in full bloom can hide wilted petals, unseen and uncared for. Child abuse and labour are the weeds that only genuine love and empathy can root out.

On this Children’s Day, the Literary Society reminds you to rediscover the magic you left behind and ensure that every child around us is safe and smiling. After all, it’s the children around us who will lead what we leave. Wishing you a very Happy and lively Children’s Day.

Gone Girl is a story of deception, marriage, and media manipulation, where love curdles into suspicion and truth becomes a weapon. Gillian Flynn’s novel is a razor-sharp psychological thriller that dissects modern relationships and the façades people build to survive them. The film adaptation, directed by David Fincher, mirrors this darkness through meticulous visuals and chilling performances, but the novel’s layered narration and biting inner monologues cut even deeper. Together, they expose how easily perception can destroy reality.

The Movie vs. the Book

1. Amy Dunne’s Character
In the book, Amy is terrifyingly brilliant a woman both victim and villain, whose diary and dialogue reveal calculated rage against expectation.
On screen, Rosamund Pike embodies her with icy perfection, transforming psychological menace into cinematic power, though some nuance of her inner voice is lost.

2. Marriage and Media
Flynn’s prose dissects marriage as performance and media as spectacle, exposing how image outweighs truth.
The film captures this with slick precision camera flashes, news panels, and public masks but offers less of Flynn’s biting social commentary.

3. The Ending
Both versions end in uneasy entrapment Nick and Amy bound by lies, their marriage a mirror of manipulation and need.
The book leaves readers disturbed by its cold logic; the film delivers the same chill through its haunting final shot.

While the film grips with its sleek suspense and visual control, the novel’s true horror lies in its words the thoughts we hide, the stories we tell, and the masks we refuse to take off.

Which unsettles you more the book’s psychological depth that twists truth, or the film’s chilling precision that makes deceit look beautiful?

The Chronicles of Narnia is a tale of faith, courage, and imagination, where ordinary children step through a wardrobe into a world of magic and moral struggle. C.S. Lewis’s novels blend fantasy with spiritual reflection, exploring redemption, sacrifice, and hope. The film adaptations bring this wonder to life with sweeping visuals and grand battles, though the novels’ quiet wisdom and moral depth remain their truest magic. Together, they remind us that belief itself is the greatest adventure of all.

The Movie vs. the Book

1. Narrative Voice
The novels speak directly to the reader, filled with warmth, wit, and moral reflection, turning every quest into a lesson in faith and bravery.
The films translate this through vivid imagery and spectacle, replacing the storyteller’s charm with visual grandeur and emotional immediacy.

2. Characters and Themes
In the books, the Pevensie children’s growth mirrors timeless virtues courage, forgiveness, and faith. Aslan stands as both mentor and divine mystery.
The films emphasize heroism and emotional bonds, presenting the characters with more realism but softening some of Lewis’s spiritual undertones.

3. The World of Narnia
Lewis’s prose builds Narnia through imagination and moral allegory a realm as symbolic as it is magical.
The films bring this vision to life with stunning effects, capturing its beauty but losing the quiet wonder between the lines.

4. The Ending
In the books, endings often feel like awakenings returns from fantasy that deepen one’s understanding of faith and self.
The films offer closure through triumph and farewell, focusing on emotion and legacy rather than Lewis’s layered allegory.

While the films dazzle with adventure and spectacle, the novels endure through reflection and meaning reminding us that Narnia is not just a world to visit, but a truth to believe in.

Which lingers longer for you the films’ breathtaking magic of Narnia, or the books’ quiet call to believe in worlds unseen?

“Realization of truth is higher than all else. Higher still is truthful living.”

Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s life was a reflection of the belief that rituals fade, but a pure conscience endures. What defines us is not where we begin, but how truthfully we walk our path.

In a world still shadowed by division, his words echoing through time remind us that peace begins where pride ends. Even today, injustice and corruption seep through society like ink on untouched paper — subtle, but hard to erase. Authorities may build bridges of reform, but real change begins when our hearts align with his message of oneness and selfless action. He saw nature as a sacred bond, but our neglect has left the skies fevered and seasons astray. If we fail to embrace truth and unity now, we may soon find ourselves moving through life like shadows present, but not alive.

As we celebrate his birth anniversary this Guru Nanak Jayanti, the Literary Society urges you to reflect the divinity within you through your actions and compassion for those around you.
Wishing everyone a thoughtful and joyful Guru Nanak Jayanti.

We waited, and now we are on the top. Dreams have turned into reality, and pride shines brighter than ever. This is not just a win; it is the sound of a nation rising through its daughters.

Every shot and every roar on that field carried stories of struggle and hope. Those once told to stay behind doors now open them for generations to walk free. Their journey was built on courage, sleepless nights, and the strength to never give up. They turned every doubt into belief and every challenge into victory.

Today, India does not just lift a trophy. It lifts the spirit of its women and the faith of millions who dared to dream. This triumph belongs to every girl who once looked at the sky and thought, maybe someday, they will reach it. From Literary Society, with pride and love, congratulations Champions. You have made India’s heart shine.
