Just a couple of week back, I shared a post regarding Ectopic pregnancy ( pregnancy outside uterine cavity).
On early morning December 26th, one of our former nursing staff rang me for sudden abdominal pain.She informed that she missed her period.I asked her to rush to our emergency at Takshashila Nursing Home. We investigated and found UPT positive, Transvaginal Sonography revealed echogenic collection in pelvis, Empty uterine cavity with left adnexal mass.
After arranging blood with proper concent we did laparoscopy.Diagnostic Laparoscopy revealed hemoperitoneum with left sided ruptured tubal ectopic pregnancy, left sided salpingectomy done.
A classical presentation of ruptured tubal ectopic pregnancy with loss of approximately 1 litre of blood within a very short span of time, really scary situation.
High suspicion, right diagnosis and quick intervention can save a precious life..
