On the evening of 20th, the Dhubri Medical College family, in the presence of our respected Principal Ma’am and Vice Principal Sir, gathered to pay heartfelt tribute to the legendary Zubeen Garg.
We first lit diyas and candles in his memory and then joined together to sing his beloved song “Maya Bini”, as per his wish.
A true icon of Assamese music and culture, Zubeen Garg’s soulful voice, inspiring journey, and timeless creations will continue to live on in the hearts of millions.

BCME Workshop , "Empowering Educators in Medical Education"

Dhubri Medical College successfully conducted its 2nd Basic Course in Medical Education (BCME) workshop. The three-day event featured extensive learning, knowledge sharing, activities, role-plays, and interactions to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of educators to foster a supportive learning environment, promoting quality medical education.

We extend our gratitude to Prof. Ankumoni Saikia, Principal cm Chief Superintendent, for initiating and encouraging this endeavor. We also thank Prof. Bijit Dwarah, NMC Observer, and the resource faculties for their invaluable involvement and support.

We are grateful to NMC, Delhi, and the Regional Centre, GMCH, for approving and providing the opportunity to host this academic workshop.

*Dhubri Diary: 🇮🇳 Celebrating the 76th Republic DAY at Dhubri Medical College and Hospital ! *

26th January, 2025

January 26th, 2025, marked the 76th Republic Day of India, and Dhubri Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) celebrated this momentous occasion with great fervor and patriotism. The day's events were a testament to the institution's commitment to nurturing not only medical professionals but also responsible citizens.

The festivities began with a solemn flag-hoisting ceremony, led by the esteemed Principal cm Chief Superintendent, Prof. (Dr.) Anku Moni Saikia. The dignitary unfurled the tricolor, and the gathering stood at attention, paying respects to the national anthem. Following the flag-hoisting, the Principal cm Chief Superintendent addressed the gathering, emphasizing the significance of Republic Day and the importance of upholding the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution. The words inspired the students, faculty, and staff to strive for excellence in their respective fields and to contribute to the nation's progress.
The ceremony was followed by a majestic march-past by the students and security staff, who showcased their discipline and coordination. The march-past was a display of unity and pride, reflecting the institution's commitment to fostering a sense of community and teamwork.
The cultural program that followed was a vibrant showcase of India's rich diversity. Students , faculty members and staff presented a range of performances, including songs, dances, and skits, which highlighted the country's cultural heritage.
After the cultural program, the guests and participants were treated to refreshments, which provided an opportunity for informal interactions and bonding. The fun games and activities that followed added a lighthearted touch to the celebrations, with students and staff alike participating with enthusiasm. The day's events culminated in an exciting cricket match, which saw teams comprising students, faculty, and staff competing against each other.
As the celebrations drew to a close, the gathering reflected on the significance of Republic Day and the importance of upholding the values of democracy, equality, and justice. The 76th Republic Day celebrations at Dhubri Medical College and Hospital served as a reminder of the institution's commitment to nurturing responsible citizens who would contribute to the nation's growth and development.

*Dhubri Diary: CME on Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness*

November 19th, 2024

Under the guidance of Prof.(Dr.) Anku Moni Saikia, Principal, DMCH, Department of Microbiology, in collaboration with Indian Medical Association, Dhubri Branch, successfully hosted a CME program on Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness with the theme , "Educate , Advocate, Act now" along with almost 150 participants including Intern doctors and staff Nurses etc. The day started off with a Walkathon event in the morning at 6am . The event commenced at 5pm. with lighting of the lamp and an inaugural address by Prof.(Dr.) Anku Moni Saikia, Principal, DMCH. Prof.(Dr.) Anku Moni Saikia, welcomed all the delegates and the speakers. A "Infection control manual" was also released during the event.

The CME featured an esteemed panel of speakers, including:
- Prof.(Dr.) Lahari Saikia , Prof. Dept of Microbiology, GMCH
- Dr. Nishanta Thakuria, Assoc. Prof Dept of Pharmacology, DMCH

These distinguished experts shared their insights and expertise on various aspects of Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness such as Role of Microbial diagnostics, Optimizing Antibiotics use etc., enriching the knowledge and skills of the participants.

*Dhubri Diary: Empowering Educators in Medical Education*

Dhubri Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) hosted the 1st Basic Course in Medical Education from 26th to 28th September 2024. This workshop was conducted under the expert guidance of Dr. Donkupar Khongwar from Regional Centre, NEIGRIHMS, Shillong, as part of a Faculty Development Program.

The objective was to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of DMCH and KMCH educators which quipped the educators to foster a supportive learning environment, promoting quality medical education.

The Department of Psychiatry, Dhubri Medical College & Hospital, in association with the District Health Society, Dhubri, successfully celebrated World Su***de Prevention Day on 10th September.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Respected Vice Principal, Professor (Dr.) Mukul Patar, Additional Superintendent Dr. Harun Al Rashid, and other faculty members from various departments.
The celebration included a street drama performed by the MBBS students of DMCH in front of the Psychiatry OPD, highlighting this year’s theme. Additionally, an Art competition was held among the MBBS students, with prize money awarded to the winners.
An Online English Essay writing competition for students from higher secondary schools and colleges across Dhubri district was organised. The participants enthusiastically took part, and the results were announced on the same day, with prize money awarded to the winners.
This event will positively impact the community, promoting su***de prevention awareness among the youth and society of Dhubri district.

August 28-29, 2024

Dhubri Medical College and Hospital, in collaboration with Srimanta Sankardeva University of Health Sciences, successfully hosted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on "Research and Publication". The event commenced with an inaugural address by Prof. Dhuba Jyoti Borah, Vice Chancellor, SSUHS, delivered virtually.

Prof.(Dr.) Anku Moni Saikia, Principal welcomed all the delegates and the speakers. Prof.(Dr.) Dhrubajyoti Bora, VC SSUHS, gave an opening remark in virtual mode during the inauguration. Prof.(Dr.) Mukul Pator , VP, gave his vote of thanks.

Celebrating World Health Day 2024!
The Department of Community Medicine at Dhubri Medical College, in collaboration with WHO and the District Health Society, Dhubri, marked World Health Day 2024 with a series of impactful activities aimed at fostering health awareness and wellness within the community.
There was an active participation from the MBBS Students of DMCH in all the activities. From the serene embrace of yoga sessions to the nurturing act of tree plantation, and the powerful storytelling of street plays, the endeavors were centered on promoting holistic well-being.
Health check-ups were conducted in a village, ensuring access to essential healthcare services where they are needed the most. And in an urban slum, vital health screenings and education were conducted.
