Advancing care through collaborative efforts!โจ
| Apeksha Hospital and Assam Medical College & Hospital (AMCH) have entered into a significant academic and clinical collaboration aimed at strengthening kidney disease management and renal transplant care in Assam. The partnership was formally launched during the Comprehensive Rare Disease Program โ Rare Care Academy, held on December 19, 2025, in Dibrugarh.
The collaboration highlights Apeksha Hospitalโs comprehensive kidney care programme, which includes advanced dialysis services, paediatric nephrology, and renal transplantation. Central to the initiative is the hospitalโs renal transplant unit led by Dr Dibyajyoti Kalita, whose emphasis on ethical, transparent, and patient-centric transplant practices has played a key role in improving outcomes for patients suffering from complex renal disorders.
Under the partnership, Apeksha Hospital and AMCH will work jointly to enhance awareness of rare and complex kidney diseases, promote early diagnosis, and facilitate academic and clinical exchange between specialists. The collaboration also aims to strengthen long-term management strategies through shared expertise, training programmes, and research initiatives.
The Rare Care Academy platform is designed to bridge the gap between academic research and clinical practice by fostering collaboration among healthcare professionals, academicians, and researchers. Through this initiative, advanced knowledge and best practices in kidney and transplant care will be disseminated more widely across the region.
The partnership is expected to significantly improve access to specialised, world-class kidney and renal transplant services, bringing advanced care closer to patients across Assam and the Northeast, while reinforcing the regionโs capacity to manage rare and complex renal conditions.
