As we wake up to the glorious sunshine, to all the other people its just another 3rd of November but here within the AMC community, its D Day. The day which 70 years ago forged something truly remarkable in the history of Medical Science in India. A beacon of hope, a ray of sunshine, an elixir of life for the people of the North East. It has been and always will be the benchmark of success, accomplishment and achievements.

Here's to a very happy 70th birthday to Assam Medical College. Thank you for making us who we are today.

31st March 2016. A day which will forever be etched in the hearts of all AMCians. For it was a day when we lost one of us, a piece of our very soul. A fatal fall and with the worst of luck imaginable, he was taken away from us to a place which wasn't his to visit yet. Ranveer Deka we will miss you.

A towering presence within this institution, he was forever a person you could rely on. A great friend, hostelmate, batchmate, senior; he always left an impression. No words, no great eulogies can even come close to heal the raw pain that is currently in the hearts of all those whose life he had touched.

Our sincere condolences to his family. The whole of the Assam Medical College fraternity is with you. Rest in Peace buddy.
