Awake craniotomy is when the patient is in half-sleep given full pain relief but not made fully unconscious so that the surgical team can talk communicate and test the patient during the course of the surgery to make sure that no damage is done to the important area of the brain like that of speech, face, arms or legs. At Maharaja Agrasen Hospital Dwarka we did Awake Craniotomy and excision of Arterio Venous Malformation over the left prefrontal region close to the area for control of speech and face control. Neurosurgeon Dr. Manish Kumar and Anesthetist Dr. Dinesh Kumar were leading the surgical team.
