Badmouthing Fellow Doctors Online

Something has been on my mind.
I see more and more doctors using social media to get popular by criticizing other doctors. On the surface, it might look like awareness. But what it really does is make patients more anxious, more confused, and less trusting of doctors as a whole.

Medicine is not a competition. We’re not here to “win” against one another — we’re here to heal. And when we lose sight of that, everyone suffers.

I believe there’s a better way.
We owe our patients honest explanations, clear comparisons, and the reassurance that medicine is not about rivalry, but about care. Respecting one another while educating patients is what raises the standard of healthcare.

What do you think — does this trend help patients, or harm them more than we realize?

Endometriosis: It’s Not Just About Pregnancy or Surgery

Too often, women with endometriosis are seen through a narrow lens.
- The infertility specialist focuses only on achieving a positive pregnancy test.
- The excision surgeon focuses only on clearing the disease.

But where is the woman in this equation?

Endometriosis is more than a diagnosis—it is a lived experience of pain, fatigue, emotional stress, and disrupted life. When we reduce treatment to only numbers—pregnancy rates or completeness of excision—we risk forgetting the person at the center of it all.

A woman with endometriosis deserves a balanced approach:

1) Relief from pain and disease
2) Preservation and support of her fertility
3) Individualized care that values her goals, not just our statistics

As doctors, we must move beyond our silos. Treatment should not be fertility versus excision—it should be woman-centered care that addresses both disease and fertility, hand in hand.

Because every woman is more than a statistic. She deserves to be heard, healed, and supported in all aspects of her journey.
