Dr Zerwick and Sister Lemp pitched the tent which later came to be known as the German Hospital.

CSI Basel Mission Hospital, the 150-bed charitable and health referral institute of Gadag was started by the missionaries of Switzerland's Basel Mission who were sent to india in 1901 to proclaim the gospel. Moved by the plight of the people who were struggling with famine-like conditions in the region and driven by a mission to spread health awareness, the missionaries started the hospital in 1902 in betgeri.

We, CSI Basel Mission Hospital Gadag, Betageri successfully conducted a NCD (Non-Communicable Disease) Camp on 02-12-2025 aimed at promoting early detection, prevention, and management of chronic illnesses such as:
Hypertension (High blood pressure), Diabetes, Obesity, Cardiovascular diseases, Cancer, Chronic respiratory conditions
Services Provided During the Camp:
✅ Free blood pressure checks
✅ Blood sugar testing
✅ weight screening
✅ One-on-one doctor consultations
We educated community members on the importance of regular health checkups,
Reducing salt, sugar, and unhealthy fats, Dangers of tobacco and alcohol use at Balaganur, Gadag by Dr. Arunima and clinical staff.
Over 80+ people screened.
We thank all the participants, volunteers, healthcare staff, and community leaders who made this event a success.

We are pleased to share that CSI Basel Mission Hospital, Gadag – Betageri successfully conducted an Antenatal Care (ANC) Camp at Adavisomapur, Gadag on 28-11-2025.
Services Provided During the Camp:
✅ Free blood pressure checks
✅ Blood sugar (GRBS) testing
✅ Weight screening
✅ One-on-one doctor consultations.
In addition to these services, we conducted health education sessions focused on:
🔹 The importance of regular antenatal check-ups
🔹 Reducing salt, sugar, and unhealthy fats in the diet.
The camp was led Dr Sadiqa Noorani & Dr Harish I, and our dedicated clinical staff.
Over 40+ individuals were screened and benefited from the services provided.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all participants, volunteers, healthcare staff, and community leaders who contributed to the success of this event.
