For bone marrow transplant (BMT), donor compatibility is determined by HLA (human leukocyte antigen) matching. Potential donors include:
Matched Sibling Donor (MSD): A sibling with identical HLA markers, providing the best match.
Matched Unrelated Donor (MUD): An unrelated donor found through registries with close HLA compatibility.
Haploidentical Donor: A family member, such as a parent, with half-matched HLA, offering an alternative when a fully matched donor is not available.

A bone marrow transplant (BMT) treats cancers like relapsed or refractory leukemia and lymphoma, and diseases such as aplastic anemia, Thalassemia, and sickle cell anemia. The procedure involves collecting, filtering, and transplanting healthy stem cells to replace unhealthy bone marrow. This restores normal marrow function and boosts recovery, offering hope for patients with these conditions.

Treatment of febrile neutropenia involves immediate administration of broad-spectrum antibiotics, hospitalization for close monitoring, and supportive care. Antifungal and antiviral medications may be used if needed. Growth factors like G-CSF are administered to stimulate white blood cell production, and IV fluids maintain hydration. Isolation precautions and nutritional support are also crucial.
