Today, District Coordinator for AES/JE, Dr. Aahlad Mahendra Borah, visited Golaghat District to review the preparedness and case management protocols for Japanese Encephalitis (JE) / Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES). During his visit a District level sensitisation meeting was conducted with CM&HO(CD), SDM&HO of all BPHCs, SDM&HO(SH), SDM&HO(HQ), Nodal Officers of AES/JE, DSO, DPM,DCM, DME, DVBDC, Epidemiologist, Microbiologist, IDSP, unit, EMA, DVBDC staff etc. He visited SKK Civil Hospital:
Dr Borah and conducted a thorough inspection of Emergency, medicine department, NCD unit, male & female wards, paediatric ward, adult ICU, PICU, Laboratory(DPHL)etc.
Meeting with frontline workers and intersectoral department was held including BPMs, CHOs, SI, MTS, MPWs, SWs, ASHA supervisors of all the BPHC and representatives of intersectoral department including (AH&VD, Forest, PHED, Social welfare etc) to prepare for peripheral level preparadness and coordination.
Dr. Borah visited Charingia BPHC, Buralikson MPHC, AkaDulakhoria AAM and interacted with SDM&HO, MOs, CHOs and other staff members specially focusing on case management at the peripheral level, ensuring that patients are properly stabilized and managed before refferal to higher facilities. A brief was provided to the Joint Director of Health Services and the District Commissioner. During the visit, Dr Borah was accompanied by DSO, Dist VBD Consultant and Epidemiologist.
