Calling All Scientists and Researchers!
DNA Xperts is excited to announce the launch of its EDUMAS Mini Grant Program (EDUcation in MAss Spectrometry).
The Mass Spectrometry Center at DNA Xperts is awarding a limited number of grants to Indian researchers, scientists and investigators who would like to conduct new studies in proteomics and metabolomics.
Quantitative proteomics and related technologies constitute a very powerful tool that transforms biomedical and agricultural research by generating and/or examining hypothesis on a global level, with high throughput, accuracy and precision. DNA Xperts has a prestigious and state-of-the-art proteomics core with an excellent track record in supporting biochemical, pharmaceutical and agriculture research activities.
The goal of this Mini Grant is to stimulate new research directions and projects that foster the use of advanced proteomics technology and to develop preliminary data that can support external grant applications.
Scope of the Awards:
Awardees will be provided access to the DNA Xperts Core facility that can only be used towards services involving the most advanced Thermo Q Exactive Plus Hybrid Quadrupole Orbitrap Mass Spectrometer, and efforts of core personnel for equipment run and basic data analysis.
The services include but are not limited to:
•Global quantitative proteomics, protein intact mass determination, protein identification from gels or immunoprecipitates, drug/small molecule quantitation, and targeted proteomics.
•Targeted and Untargeted metabolomics
•Profiling of Lipidome and Quantification
Benefits:
Top Selected awardees will be eligible for free LCMS run and analysis of upto 5 samples in triplicates.
Guidelines:
•Open to academic researchers at academic institutions, universities, and nonprofit research institutes within India only.
•Program applies to only LC-MS/MS services offered by DNA Xperts.
•The program does not include any training on the technology. Requests for training will not be considered.
•Researchers will have to provide extracted & purified samples.
•All consumables normally provided by the core facility for general LCMS run are included in grant totals. However, purchase of proprietary items, like specific reagents or standards, columns, matrices etc., are the responsibility of applicants or their supervisor.
• Application Procedure: Write a one-page description of what you hope to accomplish. The proposal must identify a specific question to be addressed. Applications should be submitted to edumas@dnaxperts.com.
•Grants will be reviewed by the DNA Xperts management team. Proposals will be evaluated based on quality and the extent to which the project truly takes advantage of novel proteomics techniques.
