In this video, Dr. T. Mahathi, Medical Oncologist in Guntur at KIMS Chakra Cancer Centre, explains the importance of the HPV vaccine and who should take it.
The HPV vaccine is one of the few vaccines that can actually prevent certain types of cancer. We often say “prevention is better than cure,” and this vaccine is a strong example of that.
Here’s who can receive the HPV vaccine:
• Boys: Ages 9 to 14 years
• Girls: Ages 9 to 26 years (best taken before marriage)
• Women aged 26 to 45 years can also take the vaccine after consulting an oncologist
The ideal age for HPV vaccination is 9–14 years for boys and 9–26 years for girls.
For any questions or guidance, it’s always best to speak with your oncologist.
