👶 Newborn not passing stool for 3–4 days… Is it normal? 🤔
Yes… it CAN be normal in many babies!
✨ Especially in breastfed newborns, it’s common to pass stool less frequently after the first few days of life.
As long as your baby is: ✔ Feeding well
✔ Active and alert
✔ Passing urine normally
✔ Abdomen is soft
👉 There’s usually no need to panic.
🚨 But watch for these DANGER SIGNS:
❌ No stool in first 48 hours of life
❌ Abdominal distension (bloated tummy)
❌ Persistent vomiting (especially green/bilious)
❌ Baby refusing feeds
❌ Excessive crying / lethargy
❌ Blood in stools
❌ Poor weight gain

👉 These may indicate serious conditions like intestinal obstruction or Hirschsprung disease — needs urgent medical attention!
💡 Take home message:
Not every delay in passing stool is constipation…
But recognizing warning signs early can save lives.

5 Mistakes Breastfeeding Mothers Must Avoid for Baby’s Health
Breastfeeding mothers play a vital role in shaping a baby’s health and immunity. Even small daily mistakes can impact a newborn’s growth and wellbeing.
1.Smoking & Passive Smoking: Even second-hand smoke at home can expose the baby to harmful toxins, increasing the risk of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) and lung infections.
2.Junk Food Consumption: Highly processed foods may reduce breast milk quality and can contribute to poor feeding habits in babies later.
3.Excess Caffeine (Coffee Intake):Too much caffeine can pass through breast milk and may cause irritability, poor sleep, and restlessness in babies.
4.Alcohol Intake: Alcohol can pass into breast milk and may negatively affect the baby’s immunity, development, and sleep cycle.
5.Raw & Undercooked Meat: Consuming improperly cooked meat increases the risk of gut infections, food poisoning, and digestive issues in mothers, indirectly affecting breastfeeding health.

5 Common Mistakes Parents Make When Children Have Fever
1. Avoid blocking airflow: Keep the room well-ventilated to maintain proper air circulation.
2. Don’t use heavy blankets: Dress your child in light, comfortable clothing to prevent overheating
3. Don’t force food: If your child isn’t hungry, avoid forcing them to eat as it may cause vomiting
4. Avoid very cold baths: Use normal or lukewarm water for bathing to keep the body comfortable
5.Don’t misunderstand medication timing: Paracetamol can be given even if the child hasn’t eaten fully; it’s not necessary to wait for a full meal
If fever persists for more than 2–3 days or is very high, consult a doctor promptly.

🩸 Is Your Child Low on Iron? Don’t Miss These Signs!
Iron Deficiency Anemia is one of the most common problems in children — but often missed until it becomes serious.

👀 Watch out for these early clues: 🔸 Pale skin, lips, or nail beds
🔸 Easy tiredness, low activity

🔸 Irritability or crankiness
🔸 Frequent infections

💡 What should parents do? ✔️ Include iron-rich foods (green leafy veggies, jaggery, dates)
✔️ Add Vitamin C to improve absorption
✔️ Deworming regularly
✔️ Consult your pediatrician for proper evaluation
🛑 Early detection = Better brain & body development!

👨‍⚕️ Don’t ignore the signs. A simple blood test can make a big difference.
