The Department of Child Health Nursing, Faculty of Nursing, in collaboration with the Department of Mental Health Nursing, SGT University, organized a Health Promotion Event on the theme “Holistic Growth for Every Child” under the SVSP on 29th October 2025 at Primary School, Nimana, Jhajjar.
During the event, nursing students actively participated in conducting nutritional assessments of sick and healthy children, including BMI and haemoglobin estimation. This was followed by an informative health education session on behavioural issues and fun-filled interactive activities with the school children.
The programme successfully fostered awareness on the importance of balanced nutrition, emotional well-being, and the early identification of behavioural concerns, contributing to the vision of nurturing healthy and happy children.

Empowering Young Minds to Step Confidently into the World of Nursing!” 🌟🎓

The Placement Committee, Faculty of Nursing, in collaboration with the Office of Alumni Relations, SGT University, successfully organized a Student Career Guidance Session titled
“From Student to Professional: Understanding the Journey, Challenges, and Prospects in Nursing” on 29th October 2025 at C Block Auditorium from 11:00 am Onwards.

This session was exclusively designed for First-Year Nursing Students, aiming to help them build clarity and confidence as they begin their academic and professional journey. The session was led by our proud alumnus Mr. Amit Sehrawat, Nursing Officer at VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi.

He shared his inspiring professional journey—emphasizing the scope of nursing in both private and government sectors, the challenges encountered in early career stages, and the opportunities for higher education in the field. His insights provided valuable guidance to aspiring nurses, motivating them to pursue excellence and resilience in their chosen path. The session was filled with motivation, learning, and inspiration—empowering young nursing students to dream big and step confidently into the world of healthcare.

✨ Deeksharambh 2025–26 | BSc Nursing Induction Programme ✨

The Faculty of Nursing, SGT University, warmly welcomed the new batch of BSc Nursing students (2025–26) through a two-day Deeksharambh Induction Programme held on 10th & 11th October 2025 at D Block, Faculty of Nursing.

The event commenced with a Lamp Lighting Ceremony, symbolizing the light of knowledge and compassion, followed by the Welcome Address by Prof. (Dr.) Sunil Kumar Dular, Dean, Faculty of Nursing.
His motivating words inspired students to uphold the values of care, empathy, and service integral to the nursing profession.

The session was further graced by Prof. (Dr.) Atul Nasa, Pro Vice-Chancellor, SGT University, whose encouraging address enlightened students about the vision and opportunities at SGT University, motivating them to excel both academically and professionally.

Across the two days, students participated in interactive sessions on institutional orientation, code of conduct, simulation and research exposure, ERP training, IQAC and ICC awareness, women empowerment, NSS & NCC introduction, and DSW activities, offering them a holistic glimpse into university life.

The induction concluded with enthusiastic participation, smiles, and a shared spirit of beginning a transformative journey in nursing education. 💙

Mental Health Awareness, Screening, and Counselling Camp was conducted at Village Jhanjhrola, Gurugram on 9th October 2025, from 10:00 a.m. onward under the initiative of the Department of Mental Health Nursing, Faculty of Nursing, SGT University, , The event was organized in collaboration with Samajik Vikas SGT Ka Prayas (SVSP) and the Department of Psychiatry, SGT Hospital.

The camp aimed to promote mental health awareness, identify psychological concerns at an early stage, and provide counselling support to the rural community. Awareness, mental health screenings, and counselling services were conducted by nursing students, faculty members, and mental health professionals. The initiative emphasized the importance of mental health as an integral part of overall health and encouraged individuals to seek help without stigma.

One-day Workshop on Holistic Physical & Nutritional Assessment organised by the Holistic Care Club under the Department of Medical Surgical Nursing SGT University - Faculty of Nursing Gurugram in collaboration with the Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, organized a workshop titled “Comprehensive Physical & Nutritional Assessment for Holistic Health” on September 27, 2025 |
The event aimed to promote evidence-based, integrative approaches in healthcare.
The program commenced with a warm welcome by Ms. Anupama (M.Sc. Nursing, 2nd Year), followed by a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and the felicitation of dignitaries. Prof. (Dr.) Sunil Kumar Dular, Dean, Faculty of Nursing, delivered the inaugural address, highlighting the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration in healthcare education.
The workshop featured four engaging sessions conducted by experts from renowned institutions:
Dr. Sunita Srivastava (Reader, ILBS, New Delhi) delivered a session on advanced physical assessment techniques.
Ms. Amandeep Kaur (Associate Professor, NRSC) led a hands-on session focused on clinical scenarios and practical skill stations.
Ms. Geetanjali (HOD & Senior Dietician, SGT Medical College) demonstrated key nutritional assessment tools, including BMI and MUAC.
Dr. Neetika (Assistant Dietician, AIIMS, New Delhi) provided an in-depth overview of comprehensive nutritional assessment methods.

“First Aid and Disaster Management” a training programme on 29th September 2025 at D-Block, SGT University successfully conducted by Dashmesh College of Nursing, under SGT University - Faculty of Nursing in collaboration with The Indian Red Cross Society, The initiative aimed to equip nursing students with vital life-saving skills and emergency preparedness.

The event began with auspicious lamp lightning ceremony and the felicitation of the guest speaker, Ms. Rajnish, First Aid Lecturer from the Indian Red Cross Society, who was honored with a certificate and sapling by Dr. Sunil Kumar Dular, Dr. Sarika Yadav, Ms. Poonam Ahlawat, and Ms. Deepa Mukherjee. Ms. Rajnish led an engagement session featuring live demonstrations of CPR, wound care, and disaster response techniques. Students actively participated in practical exercises, gaining hands-on experience and boosting their confidence in handling emergencies.

The interactive format encouraged questions and discussions, making the learning effective and impactful. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, appreciating Ms. Rajnish, the organizing team, and the enthusiastic students, reinforcing the importance of empathy and prompt action in crises.

The meeting was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Atul Kumar Nasa, Pro Vice Chancellor, SGT University, who delivered the keynote address, and Prof. (Dr.) Sunil K. Dular, Dean, Faculty of Nursing, who shared the opening remarks.
The session brought together a distinguished panel of experts, blending academic excellence and clinical leadership, to guide us in strengthening nursing education and aligning it with the dynamic needs of the healthcare industry. Our esteemed Advisory Board Members included Dr. Brig. Punita Avnesh Sharma (Director of Nursing & Midwifery, Jhpiego, India), Capt. Sandhiya Shankar (Chief of Nursing, Fortis Healthcare), Dr. Annu Kaushik (Director of Nursing, Cloudnine Hospitals), Mr. Vinodh Krishnakutty (Director of Nursing, Medanta Hospitals), Mr. Madan M. Sharma (Assistant Director of Nursing, Connolly Hospital, Ireland), Dr. Latha Venkatesan (Principal, College of Nursing, AIIMS Delhi), Dr. Suresh K. The Two-Day Seminar on Ayushman Bharat – Health and Wellness Centres: Strengthening Primary Health Care for a Healthier India, combined with Managing Health Care Delivery of Community Health Services (including Indian Systems of Medicine), concluded successfully with impactful sessions on Day 2.
The day began with a recap of previous discussions, followed by an enlightening session by Dr. Nutan kumari Associate professor, SGT University - Faculty of Nursing , Gurugram, on “Health Promotion and Disease Prevention at HWCs: Strategies for Communicable and Non-Communicable Diseases”, which encouraged active interaction through a Q&A round.
Post-break An engaging activity session was conducted by Ms. Rachna, Associate Professor, Community Health Nursing, SGT University, on “Digital Health, Telemedicine & Health Information Systems” through case studies and role play. The seminar concluded with a post-test, feedback, and a valedictory session with reflections, certificate distribution, and vote of thanks.

Two-Day Seminar on Ayushman Bharat – Health and Wellness Centres: Strengthening Primary Health Care for a Healthier India, combined with Managing Health Care Delivery of Community Health Services (including Indian Systems of Medicine), commenced successfully by the Department of Community Health Nursing, Faculty of Nursing, SGT University on 25/9/25

Day 1 featured insightful sessions by eminent speakers. Dr. Geetika Singh, Associate Professor, Community Medicine, FMHS, highlighted “Ayushman Bharat & HWCs – Gateway to Comprehensive Primary Health Care”, emphasizing their role in equitable health services. Dr. Bhudev, Yoga expert from the AYUSH Department, Gurugram, engaged participants with a session on “Yoga & Lifestyle Interventions for NCD Prevention and Stress Management”, enriched with demonstrations and group participation. Dr. Alisha, Assistant Professor, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, SGT University, spoke on “Maternal and Child Health through HWCs” and integration of National Health Programs.

The day concluded with interactive discussions, reinforcing holistic approaches to strengthen India’s primary health care system.
