The elderly gentleman had complicated gall bladder stone disease with features of cholangitis .

He was high risk patient and was stabilised initially.There was history of deranged liver enzymes. MRCP is a radiological test which is helfpul in management in such scenario

Later after due optimization;
Laparoscopic cholecystectomy was done.

The recovery was smooth and was discharged home the very next day of surgery

Glad to share a happy of a gentleman from who was suffering with -

* ; which is a swallowing disorder where the food pipe muscles become tight and fails to relax, causing regurgitation (backflow) of food and chest discomfort.

The patient had a procedure done outside seven years back which provided little relief but now has come to us with severe symptoms.He is troubled so much that he uses a bottle to roll in his chest to relieve the discomfort of stuck food!!!

We thoroughly evaluated him .After considering all options ( including balloon dilatation) with our Gastroenterologist, we decided do a conventional surgery ( redo) called
Laparoscopic Hellers cardiomyotomy for long term benefits.

In this surgical treatment for achalasia: the tight lower esophageal and upper stomach muscles are carefully cut to allow food to pass smoothly into the stomach.

It was a redo surgery which involves meticulous care for safe results and we are glad it was successful. The patient is relieved and can now swallow food comfortably again!
