I had reached 198, I had piled up this number effortlessly just 2 short of a double hundred. People around me were not very appreciative of these numbers. They were not turning green, they simply were aghast & egging me not to go further. I sincerely appreciate their genuine concerns as 198 was not runs from a cricket match, it was my weight 198.5Kgs to be precise. My highest documented weight was 186.5Kgs. Not an achievement by any standard lifestyle measure.
I was suffering from severe case of depression, sleep apnea, blood pressure, palpitation, border line sugar levels, knee pain, varicose veins, lower back pain, swollen tongue, involuntarily biting my tongue at least half a dozen times a day consistently.
All these were associated with one common word *OBESITY*. It was unnerving. Take note of the behavioral pattern of a “very healthy” individual, when you meet one. 8 out of 10 obese people activate their humor shield while in a conversation, be it in a social gathering or one to one. The idea is to initiate laughter prior to someone else taking the honors.
There were many a times, I felt helpless & wanted to give up fighting life. I was beyond the stage of Gym, walking, diet etc. The only choice left at that point was bariatric surgery, which I was not ready for, whatsoever.
I was introduced to Ramana Krishnan of The Fasting Studio by Suraj, a common friend, 7 months ago, who was shocked to see me after many years. I used to be fit & regularly play basketball & cricket. Due to professional pressure & stress I had lost myself.
My OMAD / Fasting journey started on February 16th 2021. Just 20 odd days into One Meal A Day, I moved on to a Pure Fast i.e. not having even OMAD. I successfully completed 110 days of Pure Fast (beyond imagination right!) under the guidance of Raman.
Today with more than 50 kgs down, I sleep like a baby, brimming with confidence and raring to go. I can proudly say *I won the Battle of Bulge*! Now I know a War is brewing for another 50Kgs.
