Myth or Fact?

Myth: Drug resistance is just a clinical issue.

Fact: It is also draining health systems of millions.
Every time antibiotics fail, hospitals face longer stays, costlier treatments, and greater pressure on limited resources. In fact, a single antibiotic-resistant infection can cost up to USD 29,000 more per patient than a treatable one.

Drug resistance is not just a threat to health; it is a threat to health budgets, especially in systems already under strain. Combating it requires smarter surveillance, responsible use of antibiotics, and supply chains that prioritise quality, access, and stewardship.

Did You Know?

Vaccine wastage remains a critical challenge in global health supply chains. The World Health Organization estimates that up to 50% of vaccines may be wasted due to breaks in the cold chain—particularly in resource-limited settings where multi-dose vials are common.

However, this figure represents a high-end scenario. With single-dose vials and well-managed supply chains, wastage rates can be significantly reduced, ensuring life-saving vaccines reach the people who need them most.

Most professional networking feels rushed, transactional, or forgettable.

This is different.

Bee Matched is built around a simple idea: one meaningful conversation can be more valuable than dozens of surface-level connections.

In each Bee Matched session, professionals are thoughtfully paired for a focused, one-on-one conversation designed for learning, reflection, and real exchange.

Here is what participants from the last round shared:

100% said the conversation was worth their time
100% said they would do it again
Average experience rating: 4.29 out of 5

Each session is 45 minutes, intentionally structured to respect your time. No pitching. No preparation. Just a meaningful conversation with someone outside your usual circle.

Express your interest here: https://hive.beeskilled.com/bee-matched-networking-interest-form/

Registrations for the January round close on 15th January.

Myth or Fact?

Myth: Poor-quality medicines are rare.

Fact: Substandard and falsified medicines remain a serious global health challenge. The World Health Organization estimates that at least 1 in 10 medical products in low- and middle-income countries is either substandard or falsified. These products undermine treatment effectiveness, contribute to antimicrobial resistance, and put patient safety at risk.

Strengthening regulation, quality assurance, and supply chain oversight is essential to protect patients and ensure trust in health systems.

Our Story

Bee Skilled is the dream to see self-sustaining public health systems in low- and middle-income countries. After decades of pursuits by our founders in Sub-Saharan Africa and South-East Asia, we realized that self-sustainability is only achievable when local talent is competent, confident and equipped with relevant knowledge to solve their own problems. However, the road to achieving this is often long, challenging and unsurprisingly, really expensive.

Our effort is to break these barriers and bring relevant knowledge and skills at your fingertips in the most affordable manner. We aspire to see competent health workforce driving the Universal Health Coverage agenda in their respective countries.
