Last night I was watching a program on Nat Geo-Taboo. It was about the story of a young teenaged couple- age 14 and 15 who had to abandon all the hopes of following their dreams as the girlfriend got pregnant at age 13. While it was commendable on their part to keep the baby, it also made me think what different could we do as mothers in order to avoid such untoward incident to our children. IMHO, i feel we should spend more quality time with our kids and strengthen the bond. Some of the ways I thought are - pursue a fitness regime together, join a mom and daughter cooking class, work on a gardening project with your child, volunteer together for a charity event, go on a mom-daughter spa, pursue a music lesson together and the list is quite endless. Let's all take a proactive approach rather than being reactive
