Encountered a gentleman with a rare congenital abnormality called persistent left superior vena cava (LSVC) during permanent pacemaker implantation (prevalence is 0.1–0.3% in the general population)

Such patients are mostly detected for the first time at the time of pacemaker surgery as otherwise they cause no symptoms

Negotiating permanent pacemaker lead in such patients is technically challenging
