Sishu Bikash Kendra a pioneer institution in ECCE ( Early Childhood Care and Education) in Assam since 1995, is situated at its sprawling pernament campus at Maniknagar Guwahati 781005. The institution initiated and guided by Late Dr. Usharanee Choudhury, Retd. Reader of Political Science, Gauhati University, and patronized by Dr. Debi Charan Choudhury, Retd. Principal Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, has not only being providing a comprehensive affordable services in childcare, health, nutrition, play and early learning within a protective and enabling environment but also providing social and economic benefits by generating employment and providing training to unskilled, semi- skilled and skilled persons from the society. With prominent citizens of Guwahati Dr. Nirmal Kumar Choudhury, Dr. Alaka Goswami , Dr. Anil Kumar Goswami, Prof Emeritus Jyoti Prasad Medhi and Dr. Sankha Dhar Baruah as members, Sishu Bikash Kendra has been working on the basis of some of the best recommendations of Ministry of Women & Child Development- Govt of India ECCE Policy , ICDS objectives -Directorate of Social Welfare, Govt of Assam and Early Childhood Development (ECD) objectives of UNICEF.
