The Centre for Genomics at Jiwaji University offers outstanding interdisciplinary training and research opportunities for graduate students coming from life science and medical background who want to pursue their career in the field of Molecular and Human Genetics. The Centre for Genomics was established in the year 2003 under an ambitious programme to bring Jiwaji University to the forefront of Indian Universities through its teaching and research programs in one of the most advanced and upcoming area of biological science, the ‘Science of Genomics’, with major emphasis on Human Molecular Genetics and Medical Biotechnology. The goal of Centre for Genomics is to prepare young minds from different disciplines for a successful research career in this super specialty field of Molecular and Human Genetics. The course aims to generate well trained and skilled man power in the areas of Human Molecular Genetics and Clinical Genetics. In addition, the students who have completed the course shall have better job prospects in R & D divisions of pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, whose numbers are rapidly growing in India.
